ok guys i have a 92 talon a/t has a big 16g turbo front mount and a 255iph fuel pump with dsm link everything else stock. my issue is when the car is in park and neutral it idles fine no surge but when i put my car in gear it drops the idle to 500rmps or lower sometimes its turns off. does anyone have a idea on what could it be ?:banghead:

yea off the waste gate, ha-ha we were trying to delete those damn little hose splitter and it wasn't coming off ,so he pull on it a little bit harder and broke it ha-ha so would that cause any other problems ?and oh k yea ill try that and ill let u know if it worked :D thanks

Remember tho. Without that wastegate line hooked up your gonna be pushing that turbo past what its suppose to go and it will blow due to overboosting. Without that vacuum line to.the wastegate, the wastegate wont open.

Wow the nipple off the wastegate "broke/pulled" off? Sounds like it may have been due to be replaced. You should def. have a way to control your boost. Have a aftermarket boost guage?......Im not 100% on this but sounds like it may be the torque converter. How does it drive, sluggish at all? Same in reverse?

Is your bov recirculated? My buddys tsi wouldnt stay idle without it recirculated

This could be due to a leaky BOV...

My buddies brand new ssqv 3 did not leak. It is the fact that the stock computer is not meant to run without it recirculated. If he has the pipe open where it is suppose to be hooked up behind the maf, it will idle horrible when in drive because it will lean out from the maf not reading the extra air that is coming in behind it

its not, were would could i recirculate it too?on and my cousin broke the nipple on my actuator would that be a big issue ?

Wait.... What?

So the line has broken off the wastegate actuator? And you haven't fixed it?

This is starting to sound like a little more than a boost leak.

I used to have this problem all the time. It would piss me off so bad in traffic. I narrowed it down to simply adjusting your BISS correctly. Search for how to set your BISS right. When you do it, do it EXACTLY how the instructions say. Make sure the car is warmed all the up and you've been idling for however long it says.

If that doesn't help, check for leaks in the throttle body and that your TPS and ISC are working right. You can search how to test those.

My problem was exactly like yours, and I had a combination of all the problems I listed above. I broke down and rebuilt mine with ThrottleBodys.com. My sensors weren't working and the shaft seals were leaking. All my issues were fixed when I got it back with new sensors that worked, and no leaks.

And seriously, fix the wastegate LOL.

I ran atmosphere BOV, just took off the hose and plugged the intake side. I never had an idle issue. I was just about 100% stock then as well.

I dont believe that the TB biss screw should have anything to do with this scenario, only because it idles fine in park/neutral. Once the biss screw is adjusted when the car is warm, you shouldnt have to touch it again(unless it eventually backs out a bit). Not 100%, but sounds right to me.

"Only when in gear(D)"......think about that....Sounds like something is holding the motor back....Torque converter or trans i'd say......Check tranny fluid level, change tranny filter and make sure the pump inside the trans is working by taking off one of the lines that go to the rad. and turn the car over to see if anything comes out

Or his alt. Is going out. My dd tries die when at a stop in gear because its to low of an amp

good possibility....

Does your car clear up after a sec when you hit the throttle? If so, a power draw could have something to do with the issue your having. Take the alt. to auto zone, they'll test it for free....

Ok thanks guys I'll keep checking off all the stuff you guys are telling me so far I got new alternator so that's out still does it and yea I doubt it's the biss ### it's only on gear when it does it so I'll have to tear the trany up and see I'll prob try tommorow I'll let u guys know by the way I can do all the tranny stuff with regular tools right no special ones need ? Ha

and if i need anything special let me know ha-ha im going to do this out of:pray: my garage LOL not a shop but could work haha

Itd still check the biss. Mine kept backing out until i super glued that mofo. before you take anything apart, start the car and let it get to operating temp. Once its at operating temp, tell me what rpm its idling at

Let me know the idle of it in park or neutral

You shouldn't need anything special. If you decide to pull the tranny and check the torque converter REMEMBER to take out the 3-4 bolts(differs) off the flex plate, or you will not be able to get the tranny out! You can get at them if you remove the dust shield from the front of the trans(flywheel side), if you didn't know that already and if you haven't took it off already.

He doesnt mean the 4 bolts in the fender well. Thats your trans mount. There is a dust cover between the engine and trans on the very bottom of the trans. I believe its held on by 3-4 10mm bolts. After you pull that dust cover off as you rotate the engine, bolts will be showing thru where you took off the dust cover

..............You got a chiltons manual? You should def get one. One of the VERY FIRST things you should get when you buy a car you dont know much about. i know i did and i use it frequently.
