identify please

Can anybody tell me what this is? it was on my car when I bought it. What is it used for? Its obviously plugged into something but there was no vac line to it (The black thing on the firewall)

That is a GM map sensor. Used for either Speed Density or for a electronic boost gauge or just to log with

I dont have speed density, my Greddy boost gauge is ran off the fpr, and i wouldnt know how to use it to log anything... So is it pretty much (in my case) just there incase I ever need it?

It could be there for looks. Try to trace the wiring out and see where it goes. It may be spliced into ## MAF sensor harness or it may have been installed just never put to use. But if ## car runs just fine its there if you need it or not you could remove and put up for sale

Just went outside to check and there are no numbers. There is just a very small upside down 4 under the nipple a vac line would go on

The wires look kinda like they run behind the cam angle sensor

They should be on the side that is facing down I believe or on the backside against the firewall. I cant remember where exactly they are. But they should be there.
