where do i buy a new alternator other than on mitsubishi?

wich brand is the OEM manufacter?

hey a friend told me that the alternator on mitsubishiparts.com is refurb, does anyone know about this?

I buy all my OEM parts from mitsubishiparts.com

Its a mitsubishi dealership that has that website, its not refurb. Only other option is buying one from pepboys but I doubt you have that where your at. Go with the site I told you, you will get OEM stuff.

i e-mailed mitsubishiparts.com and they said that the alternator they sell is remanufatured and they sell it with the exchange of mine. i cant send mine to them

so can someone give me the part number for the oem? ill have to buy a new one at misubishi...

People a reman alternator is a hit and miss with getting a bad unit.
I have a reman on my dsm since last year when i bought my car and so far so good.

On an alternator, try the classifieds section on this site for one, or get yours rebuilt. It's gonna cost just as much as a rebuilt/remaned one from autozone, napa, etc. but at least you know it will fit. The only problem you might run into is the wiring harness. Some are 2 wire, and some are 4 wire. And from my experience, the same year and model car won't always have the same harness.

ok so i decided to adapt a alternator into my car. reason: OEM alternator $300 but the price with taxes to ship to brazil = $600. im not paying $600 on a alternator. my question is:

do i lose any function when using a adpted alternator? people say ECU goes crazy...ill adapt probabily a GM alternator with higher output.

You can pick them up at any Auto Zone/Checkers. The one i purchased 3yrs ago from Auto Zone has the mitsu badging on it and it has worked great. hope this helps you. good luck fella

I dont know if u solved this yet but u can get a 99 galant altr from advance auto and it bolts right up and puts out and extra 15-20 amps. Its about the same prize as an eclipse one and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
