hyundai valve/ spark plug covers? [Merged 7-8]

why is it i've seen a few 4g63 engines with hyundai spark plug covers.. there was a valve cover on ebay with a hyundai badge on the spark plug cover, and a 4g63 engine for sale on ebay now that says in the description "some came with hyundai valve covers..." what is this about?

Thanks guy, it was actually powdercoated in a krinkle black. Some shop from texas had it for sale on eBay a few months back and I scooped it up.

Stainless valve cover set

- Eight (8) M6 stainless steel hex head bolts for the outer portion of the valve cover.

-Six (6) M6 stainless steel hex head bolts for the inner portion of the valve cover.

-Five (5) M6 stainless steel hex head bolts for the spark plug cover.

-Three (3) M6 stainless steel hex head bolts for the upper timing belt cover.

-Twenty-two (22) M6 stainless washers for all of the bolts.

I also have the sonata cover, i just removed the studs from the hyundai head and used them. Better change of not stripping the threads on the head.

Ya man you have no clue what im going through living with a honda kid!!
my roomie has a d16 vtech hatch and god!!!
he has come up with every excuse to why his is better and the only reason why the 4g63 is faster is the turbo!!
Now YA thats somewhat true... and i told him id still smoke him with my wastegate clip open..
waiting for grunge night at the track in SAtown!

ill show him what DSM means haha!

And my chicks got an elantra.. 03.. but hey ill see if i can talk her into slappin on my old 14b when i upgrade haha!

I believe the older 89-91 G4CS Valve Covers are pretty much identical to 4g63 Valve Covers, so stock hardware will work. Unlike the one you have which is off of a 94 Hyundai, Which was taller. Honestly I'd just go to a hardware store and pickup some nice bolts. You don't have to torque them down so just find the right thread and length.

Are hyundai valve covers compatible with our cars & is the valve covers direct bolt-on? This is the one I saw at the local junkyard

I have a valve cover like the one in this link and my 6 bolt 4g63 spark plug seals fit very loose in my hyundai valve cover is this normal for them to do this ?

That should be fine I ordered a 96 sonata valve cover gasket and its fits the same way. Also as far as bolts you can use the valve cover bolts from a newer sentra they fit perfect and will not leak.
