HyperFest '10

This will be my first HPDE event

I just signed up for this event the other day and already can't wait. HPDE events look like fun in general, but this weekend will have a lot more to see and do!

I was wondering if anyone else will be coming, either to run their car or for the other events.

This is an event NOT TO MISS!!! The NASA crew is fabulous and there for you, must of us are racers ourselves and want to help you.

For everyone: Of course ask anyone associated with NASA, but if you in need of help from a fellow dsmer that has tracked and autoxed a dsm plenty, I will be there. Search for the Announcer/Pace Car driver. Another NASA official is also a huge dsm guy and will be in grid, dont act like strangers, introduce yourselves and have fun!

So what kind of car do you get to drive for the Pace Car? Is it one you provide (like your M3), or do they have one they typically use?

Depends on the track. At Summit Point we pace using our own vehicles so typically my m3, and the other pace car drivers celica. At VIR, we use VIR's brand new R32 as our pace car in conjunction with our own.

I may be there just to hang out. I live all of 8 miles from the track and could offer tools/garage if anything unexpected should happen.

Well, since a few of you will be there both days we may have to plan to have a few people over to my house for a cookout.

We typically cookout at the track and drink ourselves silly once we are done driving/working. Your more than welcome to join us.

Is there tools for cooking/grilling there, do the NASA people provide it, or is that something else I need to add to my list of stuff to bring?

Hyperfest is my favorite event of the year. Cars all day, drink all night and wake up to cars running on the track again. I did the hpde with the evo 2 years ago and it was a total blast. I think I had the best instructor, he never stoped coaching me during the 30 drive. I can still remember him telling me to "kiss it!" the rumbel part of the apex. We'll be there again this year hopefuly, we usualy stay in the center part of the track. If you see us there stop by and have a beer.

Anyway, we bring our own cooking stuff, there is no provided grills, etc.

Im the other guy, doubt the GSX will be there since its me and the wife. Name is Justin, won't be working grid but instead cruisin round on a Golf Cart being the NASA Directors bi***, just look for me in a golf cart, or im sure if you find DJ (D_eclipse) he will let me know. Hope you can make it to more Summit Point events and we both will be at all of them with NASA-MA.

FYI we will be there Friday-Sunday.

For the past 2 years I've been coming and its something I look forward too every year. I'm excited for this year because for once I get to drive down. its worth the 2 hour trip for us. Such a fun event. I can't wait to watch
