I know it's a long shot, but any DSM'ers interested in partaking in a HPDE at Pocono in October. It's with the delval bmwcca so I'll likely be the only evo there, would be nice to have some form of 4g63 company :dsm:

I'd love to join you but my EVO is gone and the talon is still a drag racer. I ran Pocono North once in the EVO and had a blast. Enjoy, and maybe someday I'll get out there with my talon.

Yeah, I ran Pocono north last year and it was the most fun I've ever had. I can't wait to try some other tracks, but for this year I've only got the opportunity for Pocono again

I also need the time to work on the car, which I really don't right now. I'm on the road most days for work.

And I'll be on vacation that weekend so it wouldn't work out anyway :p

Just bustin yer balls, maybe next year. Hey have u heard about liberty bell mp supposedly opening up next year-looks promising Between that njmp and pocono there's going to be a few nice local options. I was hoping to get a chance to run at Monticello but looks like that's a no go since they arent renting it out next year

I have heard of Liberty Bell opening up, and am really looking forward to it because of how close it will be to me (less than 45 minutes!!). I might even be willing to drive the car there and back.

I really want to run NJMP (either course), but the price deterred me from doing so this year. And I want to get out on the Glen even more, but this year just wasn't the year. Thankfully I was able to at least get out this year though.

Hopefully I'll be back next season ready to go with my cooling issues fixed. External oil cooler is in the works, and some metal ducting might happen if I have the time. Other than that, I'm not sure what else I can do but swapping turbos, as I'm sure the small 16g is pumping out more heat than necessary with how hard I'm working it.

But we'll have to meet up at some point :thumb:

I'm about an hour from pocono so it's convenient but liberty bell wouldn't be much further than that for me either. And I've heard good things about njmp. For the glen one of the BMW chapters has a 3 day event where if u sign up as a beginner and it's your first time running with them it's only 325. I'm still kinda in that group and maybe quality track time wouldn't be as much but it's a steal for 3 days

Def have to meet up at some point

At Pocono I never got the entry off the oval that well. We were there for 2 days and I did seven sessions. I had Tein H-tech springs on stock struts, Kumho slicks, Invidia Downpipe, and HKS Carbon/Ti cat-back, that's it for mods. Wow did the car lean like crazy with the slicks and no real springs and/or coilovers. I still managed consistent 1:06-1:07 laps there with a best of 1:05.7. I thought that was decent considering it was my first time there and only my 3rd track day ever.

Other than that one time in the EVO at Pocono North in 2007, I ran it at Lime Rock here in CT earlier that year. Ran my Talon at Lime Rock once when I first got it back in October 1996, and most recently ran my Forester XT at Lime Rock twice in 2008. I definitely want to hit some more HPDE's and hit some different tracks. NJMP, Mid Ohio, and VIR come to mind...but they are all a hike from where I live. I drive one hour with the last leg through the nice hills of northwestern CT and I'm at Lime Rock, so it makes it a no brainer.

VIR and Summit are well worth it! NCCAR is now operational but isnt worth the drive. (just did it this past weekend) I had signed up for a NJMP event in October but it got cancelled :(. Ill be at Summit Point Shenandoah this weekend if anyone is going to be there, but ill be in a white m3.......

bump, 1 day option now available for only $250
