Hey guys,
I Have a Dejon Tool race FMIC on my car and it has DEJON spray painted on it. Anyway how to remove the spray paint without damaging the core? Thank you.

What kind of paint was it? Do you know? If you try to strip it off, you'de better have a lot of time on your hands. Why don't you just spray paint it the same color as the text? Or do you want a natural aluminum finish?

If this guy keeps spraying more things on his intercooler won't that lower its ability to cool as good as it once did? (Not sure?)

Hrm, they also sell some form a 'gel' paint striper that is used by body-shops and paint-shops, but I can't remember the name for the hell of me. I'd call a local paint-shop and ask them about whats the best way to remove it. But that gel stuff was insane (seen it used only once, don't know the name.) The guy let it sit for about 15-20 minutes, and then 'washed' it off - and BAM the paint was gone from the car... figured maybe my 2 cents would help OMG

What about applying a basic type of stripper and then pressure wash it off? Has enough force to actually give a similar effect of scraping. Just make sure that the stripper is water rinsable.

Go Get it powder coated. They'll remove all the paint and make it look really good.

I might have misunderstood you here, but he's not going to want to have it powdercoated if he doesnt want to have any paint on it! (Powdercoating is still paint). You might be thinking of anodizing, which would be a better option for him if he wants it coloured but not necessarily painted.

Edit: Of course, it could have been sarcasm, judging by the post above mine!

Any paint stripper that is aluminum safe will work.

Painting an IC does degrade its' efficiency. HOWEVER, the amount is so small it will NEVER make a difference. I don't care how anal or HP hungry you are, you will never be able to tell.. or even measure it on a dyno for the matter.

Got it off with paint thinner, Going to polish the i/c tonight when i get aluminum polish. :thumb:
