How to remove maaco paint job scratches

Hey guys, so the previous owner of my car had the car painted black (car was originally white) at maaco. It's no surprise to anyone that maaco does not do a quality job especially when you're only paying $250. They did not spray clear coat on the car, so I really don't know how to remove the fine scratches. I can't grab them with my nail so they're not that deep. I tried a polishing compound but no luck. I would take pictures but the camera won't capture the scratches. The car looks good under a shade or something but under the son it looks like crap.

If they didn't use clear, then there are only 2 possibilities to deal with.

1. Automotive paint, with out clear, has no gloss or uv protection. I think you would notice the paint wearing down very quickly. If this is the case, get it repainted. There isn't anything you can do to save the paint at this point.

2. (which is far more likely) They used single stage paint, which is fine for 90% of the cars on the road. If this is the case, the paint can be wet sanded and buffed, but you have to be careful not to go through the paint. The is a possibility that they can just be buffed out without sanding, depending on how deep they are and a few other variables.

In either senario, you will have a very hard time trying to buff the scratches out by hand. If you have no experience with a buffer, find somebody that does. (And I feel strongly that you have no experience with a buffer since you are asking this question) Take it to a detailer or a body shop and have them see what they can do for it. I am not going to explain to you how to buff it yourself and risk giving you the knowledge to mess up your paint. LET SOMEBODY ELSE DO IT. You will thank me, and yourself.
