just wanting some 420 and 4g63 owners to post up their mileage and how you drive it.
i have a 420a 98 with 200,700 miles. all stock. just regular maintenance and aside from an electrical prob recently ive not had one problem. are 4g63s reliable as well?
i also drive my car very gently and take great car of it. i shift alot at 2500 rpm and do a TON of hwy miles. im sure this has lead to its longevity. just curious about everyone else tho.

Girlfriend's '92 Talon N/T daily driver is getting ready to roll over 200k.

A good friend of mine had a 6-bolt that was in three different cars, the last of which being a 2G running in the 12's with a 20G turbo. The engine was estimated to have around 280k on it with no modification other than head studs, cams, and a balance shaft eliminator kit installed.

My six bolt 4g63 is round bout 158,000. Head has been rebuilt. It doesn't get a lot of miles because I have a company truck for work. My car gets driven in the evenings, show almost every week and the dragstrip once a month. I'm pretty hard on it, especially since the new 20g. Twenty PSI is hard to ignore...

196,000 miles on the 1998 Talon. Mostly commuting 20K/year. Never beaten on but regular WOT to 7K to keep the rear end out of trouble getting on busy roads.

The stroker conversion was at 183,000 miles.

My '99 420A currently has 134K on it. I'm rebuilding it because it hydrolocked earlier this year. Not only that but the engine and bay are extremely dirty.

My '99 4G63 currently has 91k. Near perfect condition! :hellyeah:

Both cars are all original and all stock.

193K at 9lbs of boost, no internal mods or upgrades and I drive it like I stole it!! ;) Only problems have been are sensors. I got a fully built motor sitting in the garge getting finished up, then I will turn up the boost and see how much the stocker can take LOL :hellyeah: sorry if that hurts anyones feelings, you will live LOL.

ive got 139k on the clock and mines pretty stock! only big'ish mods are intake kit and intercooler pipes and exhaust manifold, the rest is bog standard and ive only had an alternator problem and o2 sensors! regular checking up and oil changes and timing belts done every 50-55k. compression check seemed ok and still feels nice after all these years! lacking a little power but thats just down to the age of the engine! heads not even been off once yet!! :)

oh and i cruise and wot a fair bit, i dont drive it like i stole it but when i give it some gas i go all out!

Okay get this. 23,000 miles on my 91 Tsi. First 8,000 miles was the original owner, bone stock, driven by an old lady. Seriously. Bought it in 2004. Stroker went in just before 20,000 miles. 3000 miles on the engine, 23,000 on the entire car. Driven hard every time its out. I don't DD it LOL

I have a 97 eclipse spyder gst 4g63 with 151000 miles and my girlfriend has my old 98 Talon 420a with 147000 miles. Both of which are automatic and i notice my spyder normally shifts around the 3000 to 3500 range unless im having some fun:D

That should and will be worth some $$$$$

I own a 95 Talon ESi N/T (modified) that has a little over 287,000 miles on it and I must admit that I put it through some paces several times a week. I like touge running through the mountains so the car does get its workout. She gets good maintenance and its common for me to be under it two times a week just making sure the suspension is just right and everything is the way it should be. A lot of people don't realize that DSM's are well built, nimble cars, that can exhibit power on demand while driving but still take a curve at good speed. Thankfully, I've never had to change out my clutch :thumb: even with my moderate driving style.
