How low can I lower my GSX with coilovers?

I heard that GSX's can not be lowered too much. Is that true? If I lower it too much will it damage the transmission or the awd system?

Over lowering ruins the handling characteristics of the car. You can lower the car to a point where the front lower control arms slope downward from the wheel instead of upward. Also, front and rear camber become more negative as the car is lowered. It can be a welcome side effect in the front, but it is often too much in the rear, and needs to be corrected.

That's the short version of the explanation.

Or you can pick all 3, not know what you're doing, and still be doing it wrong.

The additional front camber provided by lowering the car may be a desired side-effect from the lowering. You can also have front and rear camber kits, over lower the car, and have problems because you're constantly riding the bump stops. There isn't that much suspension travel on the 2gs.

A better question, OP, would be "What are you going to do with the car?"

3 inches on stock tires size. But if you have tire size wider then 225/55 and 16inch rims or bigger. You can only go 2.3 -2 inches before it scratches.
Atleast that was what happen to me.
I don't really feel this question. You have COILOVERS! Test it LOL
My rule of thumb. If you can't fit the side of a cigarette box, it's scratch if you have the bigger size tire i mention up there. You'll need to compensate for going up the drive way or store lot.
