how much can I drop my 2G eclipse with TEIN SS or Flex Coilovers

hi, I want to buy in a few weeks a new chassis for my 2G eclipse . but I cant decide between the Ksport coilovers and the tein Superstreet resp. tein flex coilovers.

my problem is : I have to drop my car round abound 80mm (3,3inch) in front and 70mm (2,8inch) in rear.

can I use for this lower suspension setting the tein SS (or flex coilovers) or have i to take the ksport resp. D2 coilovers?? I know that this lower suspension setting is possible by the ksport coilovers. but by the tein too???

does anyone have a few pics of tein chassis with this lower suspension setting? how deep can my car come with the tein coilovers? pics?

damn 3 inches are alot and you are changing alot of geometry with the car itself.... Alot of things will need to be addressed with a drop like that .

The tein ss only drops your car 1.9" in the front and 1.5" in the rar. Neither the ss or the flex will drop your car more than 2.5". If you want a lower drop you will have to get some type of aftermarket springs that lower 3" and separately order really good shocks such as tokicos or konis.
But before you do proceed to buy anything, take in mind that such a low drop not only will be putting your car at risk from hazards on the road and getting all bumped up but also you will have camber problems and chew tires like nothing unless you get a camber kit.
If you are going to be using your car for street use just get tokico or koni shocks and pair them up with megan racing 2" drop springs and that would work just fine, unless you really want a track suspension then i would go for the tein flexes, but it's quite pricey.

still I have this lower suspension setting but for now only with lowering springs and abridged shocks

No fear, I know what I do andont forget, I live in Germany....our streets ar much better than the streets is the US . with 3,3 inch I have no problem to drive.

by the way, I need a really good Suspennsions, because I plan a turbo conversion with many horsepower ;-)
rollcage, sparco seats, brembos brakes a.s.o. ar planned too...... sometime I will drive on the Nordschleife ;-)

I am now jealous because...
1. I want my car to eventually be that approximate color.
2. Once it's painted, I want a CF hood. Not that one, but similar.
3. You have roads good enough for a 3" drop.

I scrape my car every once in a while in my area with no drop. I drive roads with unavoidable potholes that could swallow small children and their pets.

But a 3" drop. Wow, that's a lot. You won't have much room left before you're hitting bump stops.

Yea well the roads in PA aren't the greatest, and like he said he lives in Germany where a lot of the money goes into road upkeep. I have a 2" drop on mine 1g N/T and its too much for the roads around here. BTW thats a clean 2g you gots, whats the offset on those rims?

there are ASA Ar5 wheels in 8,5x18
the offset off the rims is 35 + 5mm distance plates per side ----->offset 30. But I have still new 15mm distance plates bought , then I have a 20 offset


btw. last year my eclipse was still lower , i had a lowering of 3,95inch (front) and 3,5inch (rear) , but ist was to much for the facelift frontbumper. with the nonfaceliftfrontbumper there are only seldom problems of sthe street

look at this, its really possible (is my car before the paintshop)
is in germany nothing special , many tuned audi, golf or bmw a even so low .

I read on another forum that the Ksport coilovers can deteriorate in cold weather, some thing about the shock seals failing. This convinced me to go with the tein, have not heard about them failing in cold weather or any weather for that matter.

have a look at mine its Koni shocks and its pretty low and just fine with 17 inch wheel
