Now I know that it redirects pressure on the line connected to the wastegate because the WG has a weak spring which opens up around 10-11psi, but why is it connected to an electrical plug. Does that plug have anything to do with its operation? Also, on that note, why didn't Mitsubishi go ahead and just make a stronger spring on the stock WG so it wouldn't open til around 13-14psi which is perfectly safe?

OK, now I understand. The electrical cord is so that the ECU can turn it off to avoid knock. How ingenious. Thanks allot for the link.
