So i've noticed that my rear footwells are wet, and muddy. Somehow there is a leak somewhere, is there any common areas i can check? people have said the sunroof drains are plugged but i never know where to find any of the suggestions people give me.

I got the same build up behind the driver seat, and i just had all my interior out and to do a paint project and when it was out i sprayed the car with the hose and crawled inside and mine was coming from underneath the taillight!!! It would drain down the hatch draing area, behind the taillight, run along the outside of the trunk area and would find its way through a seam where the sheet metal was connected and make its way inside the car. It would then follow the little body molds around the inside the trunk area, past the back seats and drain under the rear seat and roll down right behind the rear of the drivers seat. Sounds crazy but its true! and very stupid. But without pulling your interior its hard to say where its coming from.

+1 pulling interior. if you pull out your headliner you can check your sunroof drains. there are 4 of them. one for each corner. could be something crazy like blkgst97 said. so i would pull the headliner (blow the lines out or run some weed eater line down it), run a hose over it. if thats not it pull the rest of the interior and repeat. good luck to you!

A useful trick I use for water leaks that are sneaky is to turn your heater on high shut all windows and doors and then squirt a dish soap and water mix all over the car. The air pressure will find the hole and blow bubbles to show you where the problem is originating. Works pretty slick. Give it a whirl, you never know?;)

Thats a good Idea. I actually will do that tomorrow since I am having the same problem just with the driver rear carpet

I kinda have the same problem but mines on the passenger side. What did you do when u found out it was coming out of the tail light area? Mines coming somewhere from the back. I can see the dirty water trail from under the seat and stuff.

Take out the back plastics in the hatch, so you can see the sheet metal. Then with the hatch closed, spray the back half of the car down with water and then either get inside and look back there to see where the water is coming from or just open the hatch and look over. Sounds like the same thing that happend to me so since yours is on the passenger side look too the right side of the hatch underneath the tail light where the metal seems together. most likely you will have a stream rolling down. Good luck. :thumb:

look into your sunroof drains. i know where the two rear ones are. pull your rear plastics off for the side panels holding your speakers. you should see two hoses (one on each side). pull up your rear seat to get the carpet in the rear up and go from there.
