Langley,
what are the best ways to boost the torque for the NA's? I just found a site that said the stock torque is 125ft.lbs. How can I increase that?

It won't be cheap. You could fiddle some with cam timing with the use of adjustable cam sprockets, or get a different grind on the cams. But 125 is not whimpy for a 2-liter, 4-cylinder car. Getting more won't be easy.

what kind of numbers could I expect with 264's and gears? oh, and what is the best range of timing for a NA, advanced or retarded?

a good cheap way is to get a crank pulley

AFX 30% undersrive...

no dude, hes a 1g. afx UDP wont fit. you probably assumed it was a 2gnt because this is the 2gnt forum and there is a seperate 1gnt forum, but nope, that wouldnt make sense. (hint hint use 1gnt forum)

what kind of cam timing is best for NA's or does it depend on my setup.

I don't know much about the 1gNT's, but I got a bigger TB and p&p my intake manifold. I noticed huge gains. PM me if you want your intake mani ported. I'm pretty good at it. I've done about 8 intake manifolds, 4 420a mani's, 2 mustang gt, 1 mustang v6, and 1 300zx.

UDP is a great boost in midrange power, but off the line there isn't much. One huge thing people often miss.... weight. Get some light wheels, pull those subs out, anything you don't really need. I shaved 178 lbs off my car (measured it) and it rocked. I don't have anything really though.... light speakers, no system, no sound deadening, and tons of junk under the hood removed. I think I've added about 100 lbs back though... I'm doing a lot this winter.

I know there are a few of you using nitrous. I don't know much about spray, but how reliable is it? I always hear about people blowing engines cause of spray. I have a lot of people ask me about nitrous, but I don't know much. How much are you guys spraying, and how often?

its a beautiful thing. you cant really blow up your engine unless you do something stupid like 1) install it wrong, 2) run too big of a shot, 3) spray for a long time without rest. im running a 75 shot. i dont know how much a 1g can handle. i spray mine whenever i get bored or i see some ricer who needs to be put in his place. ive been spraying a little more lately so i can have a nice fresh full bottle to go on the dyno.

i suggest getting some pace setter headers theyre a long tube design with a 2.25 outlet they help torque alot. run 2.5 on your exhaust get a 2.75in intake pipe design a cold air box k&n cut the thin metal from behind the passenger headlight and remove the rubber trim above it on the hood also chop your air can. and they have real cheap under drive pulleys on ebay like 50 bucks you will get 30-40 hp and some good torque to

thanx for the info. I would consider Nitrous if I had a 2G or a 1G with less k's but I really want to keep it to all motor since this is my daily driver. i'm trying to keep the fuel mileage but add some more power. I was thinking about removing the back seat and getting some racing/street seats for the front. how much on average is the weight difference between stock seats and aftermarket seats?

why do 4g63T guys even come into the non-turbo section?

Take your comments elsewhere. They are not needed, nor appreciated here. Look at my setup, and tell me its funner. I think its much better when I smoke GSX's and I'm a ESI.

sell that NT and buy a gsx,you will save time and money in the long run and have double the tourque and double the FUN

you dont even have a GSX, your FWD. and if your stock like your profile says, i would beat you. now how can you tell us to sell our cars when some of them are faster then yours? just dont come in here, that thought is old, and everyone knows that option. when you have an orignal idea(think hard i bet you could do it) to help us out, then come in and answer questions.
