I just got a new intake mani and on the underside there are two black hoses (look similiar to the coolant hoses on the turbo in size) that i'm not sure where they go. On my previous intake mani the two were bridged into one another if that makes sense. So where do these two new hoses go?

Thanks!

One goes to a port on the water pipe extension (small piece that runs back the block) and another goes to a port on the back of the thermostat housing. It's used to cool a portion of the throttle body. It's not necessary and can be looped from the thermostat housing to the water pipe and eliminated at the throttle body using an FIAV bypass plate (to still retain functionality of the ISC).

I have other coolant hoses hooked up there to those spots...what's a FIAV bypass plate? Also can i just let em be or will that screw with my idle?

A bypass plate will allow you to run an ISC, but blocks off the airflow to where the coolant used to run.

If you already have lines in those places, take one off and make a loop from the other (connect open end to nipple you removed other hose from). Then get one of the bypass plates, install between the FIAV and throttle body, and you can leave the nipples on the FIAV alone since the plate will block any airflow.

Actually, a plate is not needed at all.

Take off the TB and locate the freeze plug on the front of it. Pop it out. You will notice a turn able spring valve. All you need to do is turn the plate until it turns no more to bottom it out. It will keep the spring valve closed effectively closing off any airflow.

This was noted by RRE and I have performed this on mine and another members TB with no ill effects. It's free and clean :thumb:

Does anyone have a pic of the freeze plug or any direction to where i should look?

Scratch that i found it, but i can't seem to get it off. Any tips for that?

Yeah i just got that taken care of. Now i have an issue where when i open up the throttle the engine stutters then catches and revs up, but when i let it come down without touching the throttle it stalls. It's not surging and the idle is fine when you let it be...
