it doesnt matter...no N/T is fast, or quick, they are all SLOW

Does that make you feel big and tough?

or do you walk around cities going up to homeless people going "why do you even try? your a failure at life, and you'll never own a home!! bwahahahaha!!"

grow up :thumb:

I see this thread has degenerated into yet another n/a vs turbo quagmire. Why does this always happen? Do 300ZX or Supra owners go through this crap? For some reason, I thought that the many DSM owners made up a community. Hm, guess I was wrong. Why cant we all just get along?

HAHA!

It's not all about being fast and quick - looks matter just as much, and it's not about complete ignorance. Who gets better gas mileage? Can you get on and off the highway - I can, so no problem there. There is nowhere around here that you can go faster than 65 anyway(legally) so what's the point of turboing just to waste more gas and money? THe guy simply wants his car to "respond" better - not be a race car.

I do have to say however, the ignorance comment was not aimed at all Turbos, many of them are true community members and help everyone out - it's just the straight up motorheads that are annoying, not everyone wants to race. Some just want nice looking cars that respond better and are a bit quicker - not hesitating

it was the simple fact that people were acting like they were fast, and quick. i have a turbo and i consider my car"quick" a car thats fast runs 10's all day. im not near it. i was under the imprssion that some of the N/T guys were just magazine racers and think theyre car is "fast" because they beat a civic DX. my bad if i offended anyone, i was just under the wrong impression i gues.

Not taken as an insult to me. a quick car to me is one that responds well, off the line it goes and is "quick" to respond. a fast car to me is one that is straight out just takes off and never looks back. Those are the cars that you see mostly in magazines. Street racers usually have quick and fast cars. rs gs without turbo can be quick cars if they are manual, auto is a little harder since you have to do the brake technique, but it can still be quicker. Turbos can be both. Of coursre everyone would have to be willing to invest some money.

I just hate the bashing that goes on between the two, we are all here for different reasons, therefore different results from cars are expected

Seriously though. My car doesnt run 10s, but its clean, smells nice, is very reliable, and is faster than any Neon's or Civic DXs I know of around here. ;) Plus, I have to have something to drive, since the TSi AWD Im going to build (after I find one, dammit) will probably be just barely streetable, and not practical as a daily driver. You know, just for shits and giggles, Id like to do everything I could to this 420a BUT turbo it, and see what kind of performance I can get out of it. Just to irritate the turbo owners on here. :p Stroker motor and 125 shot of n20? Or maybe supercharge? Haha, now thats funny!

everyone's perception of what fast and quick are are different. i dont sit around at the track all day, so my idea of a fast car is an evo, or a wrx, or even a GSX. my idea of a quick car is a GS. something that has a good bit of accelleration and can keep up with most cars on the road... i said most, not all, most NA cars that is... MOST...

yes that is y i say our 420a powered rs are slow as ####, im not saying that they are better just that stock for stock they are very ####ing slow. but i dont doubt that if a turbo was added they would be just as quick if not quicker than the gst. ot tsi im my case

Just got my t3/t4 turbo, will post pics when its all done. We'll just see how fast I can push this RS. I want to have a mad sleeper for the ricers down here. :dsm:

EDIT: Got the t3!

Very nice. Turbo kit, or what? Are you going to be able to dyno it?

Why do you even bother posting in the N/T Forum? We dont give a crap about your turbo car and how fast you can run the 1/4 mile. Your definition of fast or quick isnt what mine is. My stock RS beat up on all sorts of turbo gsx's at the auto x's because they were too heavy and were built (by the owners in these cases) to go fast in a straight line. Good for you. I'm glad you have a "fast car". Now go tell it to some one that gives a damn.

Non-Turbo Performance is for Non-Turbo owners to talk about improving their cars. NOT for Turbo owners to come in here and tell us to buy turbo cars, or that our cars our uselessly slow. Your not helping anyone with your post. I'm sorry if i'm getting pissy, but all we get from most of the turbo owners on this forum is the same useless bullshit. I'm sick of it.

I think the actual (star, hahn) kits are really over priced, I just made a custom manifold with a dp, just got the t3/t4 16g and now I am just waiting on an S-AFC when I get some extra cash. Should be up and running within the next two months or so. Should put me at the 200hp mark which is plenty for me. I just need my car to get a better kick when I floor it

LOL- to the neutral drop comment- kiss ur tranny good bye. Do it right and get a stall converter. The neutral drop just creates a crap ton of wheel spin, followed by a bog if you go too high. Just plan to add forced induction or build the crap out of ur tranny. A 5 speed swap would be best. Or be like me- slow for show. :p
