2G Horn(s) that don't suck

My stock horns hardly work anymore. Sounds like a sick cow.

What is the what with these? Can they be seviced? Are there replacement horns still available?

No, they cannot be serviced. They are a sealed (or supposed to be) unit. If the splash guards aren't there, they will take a beating with stones and water.

You can order aftermarket horns intended for full sized cars that will sound more normal and louder. Of course, some people go so far as Hella horns that are quite loud.

If ours ever go out, we'll replace them with ones from a full sized sedan or truck.

No idea why but hella horns are hugely popular. I like stebel horns personally.

Also, which I personally think is stupid, people like to put the hella horns behind the front grille. Maybe it's because they're red but I see it like the aluminum tow hook hanging off a Honda backend. At least the horns have function and don't broadcast that you frequently need to be towed off the lawn.

I'd say just get a set of dual tones unless you're looking to stick OEM.

My sister got me one of these horns last Christmas. Have yet to install it so i cant really comment on how good it is in person. But its another option. Video goes though a few tones that they offer.

My oem horn went on me and i got piaa dual tones but upon testing out both i opted for 1 that was louder then the other. At the time wiring in for another was not what i wanted to do. 1 seems good and loud but if you want louder then add an air horn

I bought these (universal) when my horn died. I used just the low tone in the stock location, and it's pretty loud by itself. I put the higher tone horn in another car.

I will probably end up with something loud like Hellas just for the fact that I live in Florida, where the most amount of idiots are converged in one place, and if I decide I need to blow my horn at someone, to save my car from damage of course, then I want that idiot to be able to hear it over the earbuds they have in their fu!@ing ear watching a tic toc video whilst thinking they’re actually driving!
