Winnipeg,
I have gotten the cable to work fine with mhiscan but that program defenently needs some work so I would like to get evoscan.

Since this is not for my car but for a friends who live an hour away I want to make sure the program will connect to the cable without issue the first time I drive there.

Is there anything I need to do differently when hooking up evoscan or does evoscan automatically locate my virtual com port like mhiscan?

Anyone using the ebay cable and evo what did you have to do to get the cable and software to work together?

Thanks :thumb:

i don't think EVO scan works with anything but an open port cable, or at least i haven't herd of anyone using anything other than openport. have you already payed for evoscan?

Does anyone have a confirmed yes on whether or not the 409.1 works on evoscan.

The 409.1 works fine with EvoScan. Just use the EvoScan drivers, don't use the VAG-Com drivers that come with the cable.

Sorry to bring up an older thread but I didnt want to make a new one with my problem that I am having. I just want to know which box should be checked at the upper left hand corner if I have this 409.1 vag cable? Like is it an openport 1.3x or the openport 2.0? Also which box should be checked under that? There is OBDII 96+ , dsm/3000gt/ecl, mitsubishi MUTIII.

I can't seem to get the vag 409.1 cable to work with EvoScan either, been working on it for 2 days now. The vag program recognizes the cable when going through the led test even though the led on the dlc never illuminates. I have tried the open port 1.3 and 2.0 with no communication from either.
Ceddy if your still around could you help some of the cheap guys like myself in gettinig this vag cable operating correctly?
