ECUflash Evoscan vag 409.1 cable not responding

I have tried and tried to get evoscan to work with the vagcom cable I have.

No luck. I have a newer hp laptop with windows 7 64x on it. Evoscan does not even see the cable. It always says cable not responding whenever I try to start logging. I have installed drivers from ecuflash, but they don't seem to do anything. The cable installs on my laptop as USB 2.0 Serial, in the device manager.

If anyone could help me out a bit, I would greatly appreciate it. I want to get a Taxtrix cable to tune and log my car with, but I'm a little nervous about it as I cannot get this cable to even show up in evoscan. I heard that the vagcom is much faster for logging anyway.

I'm bringing this back up to the top in hopes that someone can help me. I think it is a matter of the drivers provided with evoscan and ecuflash are not compatible with the cable I have. I'm going to be purchasing a taxtrix cable shortly anyways, I just read that this one could log faster.

I made the same mistake, the blue ebay cables do not work. This is the one that works for me. VAG com USB KKL 409 1 Cable for Audi VW OBD2 OBD 2 | eBay

I really hate to bring this thread back up on this. I purchased a 409.1 vagcable and used the drivers for open port but still can not get this too work but the one I have is the blue cable. I was just wanting to clarify that this one above does work for 19.99. Im not worried bout the one I have because I done bought 2 cable and neither work just don't want to spend money for nothing. If this one works then ya I will be ordering it. Thanks im sorry to have brought this up but I have read for the past 3 days and tried every driver with this one and still no luck.

you have to use evoscan 2.6 or below with the ebay cables because evoscan blocked any non-tactrix cable in v2.7+ . I use the ebay blue connector with silver usb cable. The solid blue and solid blue cable doesn't work it has some other chinese chipset.

Ok thank's alot. Also i have read that if you use this cable that you have to run a positive 12v source to the plug that opens the ecu in my 98 gst, the one beside the obd port that only has one wire. Will this work? I have read that the 3rd gen eclipse was letting you do this? Thank's
