I'll make this fast.

AEM 3.5 bar sensor...can I screw it right into my intake manifold? Heard it had to be installed vertically or something? Can't find where I read this. Anyone have an install pic?

AEM IAT sensor...Instructions say White wire is power, black wire is ground. Um, both of mine are black.

AEM EGT sensor...If I'm hooking it up to the gauge, how do I also hook it up to log on a laptop? I also have the sensor pointed up (installed from underneath the manifold before I read the instructions saying to install it down). Would it really make a difference? Guess it's too late now but wondering why that is.

These will be used in conjuntion with a MAFTpro in Speed Density mode. Thanks for any help.

Map sensor- no it wont screw in, doesnt matter for orientation
AIT- its a resistor, it doesnt matter on wiring
EGT- youre on your own

Guess I forgot to mention that the manifold I have already has a port tapped that the map sensor would screw into. Just read that it had to be mounted vertically so that was my concern. Cause it'd be mounted upside down. And can't find where I had read that. Oh well. Thanks for the other info though.

The AEM EGT is an RTD type, so it won't work on a standard EGT gauge. You'll have to pipe that one straight into the AEM unit.

Laggin's correct about the IAT.

The AEM spec sheet doesn't say anything about the MAP Sensor. I just bought an 1/8" NPT barbed adapter and ran a vacuum line to it. I would guess that inverted mounting could cause an issue if fluid were to build up on the sensor.

We were having issues with the MAP and pulsation from the manifold, so NDGSX figured out that we could weld a 1"x1"x2" metal box with a vaccuum line running to the manifold. That way it would dampen the pulsation that we were seeing while logging and tuning.

Gues I forgot to mention that my manifold already has a port that the map sensor could screw into, just that it'd be upside down.

As for the EGT, I called AEM and Autometer and neither knows if the probe would work with the gauge or not. May just have to hook it up and see I guess. It's a Cobalt gauge but that probably doesn't matter. I also don't have the EMS so can't just plug it into that. If it'd plug into the MAFTpro somehow, that'd be nice at least if nothing else.

You need a K type probe for the Autometer gauge. TRE sells a K-type EGT probe that will work with your gauge for $45.

I would put an NPT barb into the manifold and then run a vac line to the sensor and mount it upright on the firewall.

If you want to get rid of the AEM probe, PM me.
