Did you even use the search feature. There is a 5 page thread on Holset turbos :beatentodeath: :beatentodeath: :beatentodeath:

Yes i used the search button... All that came up is what they are and how the hy35 is similar to the hx35.. Same compressor housing and thats it.. No one used it and what I want to know is whats this turbo good for, as in hp and tq outputs??? And 97gstauto, why dont you do a search and tell me what you came up with instead of saying something dumb and trying raise your post count??

wow love your reply duwhacker not even being sarcastic thats what kinda sucks about these forums to many people who know it all and to much bickering. i wish i knew the answer to your question though

It depends on your setup, but like stated above by hubz91talontsi, it's good to over 400whp, closer to 500 on a fwd. There are compressor maps out there but you can't always believe what you hear...

You've already attempted your question in this thread: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/317809-holset-hy35-question.html.

I believe the answer to your question is in the VERY FIRST POST of the Holset Part 5 thread, where DSM-onster is quoted saying:

"HY35:

The hy35 has a smaller turbine wheel than the hx35. And, it has a turbine housing connection that does not allow for a bolton housing to be used. It does not have a divided housing so any t3 manifold can be used effectively with this turbo. It has the same compressor as the 7blade hx35. We don't know if te hy35 turbine wheel and housing is enough to reache the 60lb/min potential of the 56mm 7blade compressor. Some one try it out already!!! It should at least be a faster spooling viable option to the full t3/t4 50-trim."

He states that he doesn't believe anyone's tried it yet, which is why you didn't get a response to your first thread 5 days ago.

For what it's worth, I spent about 19 seconds to find that information through searching.

Yeah I read the same thread and all that stuff on the Holset.. Thats why I started this thread, to see if anyone tried that turbo yet? Thats what I wanna know.. So if 400hp is achievable with the HY then thats what I am looking for. I dont have lots of money to throw around for some $2,000.00 dollar turbo, so I read into the holsets and with those numbers and the prices of the holsets being pretty cheap, then that is the way to go for me... Ill tell you guys what, I will go ahead and try this turbo out and see what it can do..And then ill post my setup when it coming along. But yeah, atleast some ppl dont have to be dicks here, and have to try and be all cool because they have 75 more posts then someone else..LOL..

LOL.. dont get mad at me. The BBQ statement was because your question was vague. "Anyone know what the HY35 is good for??" Hey maybe its good for BBQing? Last time I checked I didnt win any money for posting. I can care less for number of posts. But thanks anyway. At least I replied when your last thread didnt get one. Also maybe the reason why no one replied to your thread because you didnt search and the info was a search button away. Which is the same thing that I and jusmx141 told you. But I'm an ass because I didnt hand it to you on a silver platter. Sorry. I love to help those whom help themselves.
