Sooo I'm finishing up my install with my 18g. I'm getting a new return line with a weld on bung for the oil pan. Well I take the oil pan off, clean the bottom a little bit flip it around to find this.....

Looks to me like the BSE bearing didn't want to stay in it's place. I don't know if it with me or the p.o. It's been running great with me until the 14b blew. The p.o. did the BSE kit sooo I don't know, but I'll be looking into it.

Might want to see if there are any other sparkles else where in the system. Doesn't look too bad but there are some crumbles.

Possibly put the wrong one in?

You could look up through the block with a mirror and get a good idea of what is going on, If they did the BSE kit you should be able to see if they put the new bearing in right. Maybe take some pics and we could help that way but hard to get a pic of that spot I assume.

Yeah I'm going to check it out tomorrow when I get off work. It just really surprised me to find that in there. Then again this is the 3rd engine the car has had. The p.o. that I bought it from bought it with a blown engine, put another engine in and found out it had a gouge in a cylinder wall, and now this engine.

looks like they just knocked the old bearings into the oil pan ( from what I can see it does not look like the bearing faces are chewed up like it would be on a spun bearing) and just left them inther and installed the BSE Kit.

Yeah it doesn't look spun at all. I just wonder how long its been in there LOL. All the bearings are still in place from what I can see. I guess I shouldn't be surprised with anything from this car anymore ha.

wow, i would be a little mad if someone just left objects flying around my oil pan. If all you bearings look to still be intact then i would agree with the other guys that he probably just popped them out and forgot to remove the pan to remove the bearings. Thats a pretty risky mistake though.

good luck with the turbo install and hopefully everything works out for ya.

Too much misinformation here.

If there was a BSE in this car a balance shaft bearing wouldn't be in the pan take a picture of the crankcase are there balance shafts in this motor?

For clarifying in the front engine block protrusion which houses the shaft and bearings ( front of the engine bay)These BS bearings are the ones to be blocked off after being removed an replaced with a new balance shaft bearing. (the shafts aren't used again). Also, you would have very low oil pressure (or NONE). There are no BS to mangle a bearing to drop in your pan, because they aren't used anymore.
