Ok,
I've been packing my brain full of research and i cannot find the right answers for what i'm looking for.
I recently bought a set of blue/purple HKS CAM Gears for a great price. They are fantastic from what i hear and will help me out with my build.. And not to mention i love the way they look.
My only concern is that today i was talking to my soon to be tuner and he had mentioned to me that older HKS Gears have issues. He let me know that there is a idle issue that was addressed about 10 years ago regarding these specific gears. Mine are certainly the older style.
The gears i bought basically look and are brand new. They were on a guys drag car and have under 50 miles on them. He didn't mention any issues with the gears to me but the concern is still there...
My question is, Has anyone had these gears on their cars and ran into this sort of problem or heard of anyone having the problems i was informed about??
I do not want to put the gears on and then complete my build, get my motor in the car just to find out that HKS Gears have problems. I'm at the point now that I have the money to get my build done but I don't want to complete it with a lesser grade part. I've put too much time and far too much money into my car to run into a problem like this.
Any help or info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
