Ok, so before I make my order for my cams I would like some feedback.
I can't really decide between a 264/272 or 272's.
Which setup will be more prone to stalling? Also where can I find sound clips? I did a search, but was unable to find anything.

HKS 272's work very well on a well tuned, good running car. If you have idle surge problems now or any kind of TPS issues they will be worse when you add these cams. I put mine last year and never had any issue with drivability.

Or the FP cams. FP2's are popular, less expensive, and pretty much the same as the 272's I believe. The only reason I got HKS was because way back, there wasn't anything else besides crower or something else even more expensive.

Honestly, I never heard of DKS, I think I will stick with HKS

DKS is FFWD's version of the HKS cams. They are regrinds that are identical to the HKS and cost about half. You don't pay for the R&D that HKS did to develope the cams or the price for making a brand new billet cam, but both cams produce the same thing. I am definately going to consider them when it's time for a set of cams.

I do agree with weith1111 though, the FP2's are comparable to the 272's but give up a little bit of torque for more top end. The seem to be the most popular cams on the forums right now. If you got the money go for the HKS cams though. They are a proven power adder for sure.

You need to update your profile, so what turbo are you currently running & if you are going to upgrade in the future what are you looking at getting?

whats the scoop on the 2nd stage of these cams http://www.dsmtuners.com/parts/product_info.php?cPath=2_133_82&products_id=894

i was about to buy the comp 200's and then i saw these. i have a port and polished head with manley valves and titanium springs, revised lifters. what do you suggest? (besides hks haha)

Have you checked out the FP2x's? Their slightly more agressive then the FP2's (or comp 200) & it looks like you have the springs to handle them. They have been getting some good reviews :thumb:

i havent..do you have a link i didnt see them

I'm also going to suggest going with FFWD's DKS cams. They are identical to the HKS cams in every way. I'm running these cams with no problems at all... good idle, great top end compared to the stock cams, no degreeing needed, 100% drop in.

so are those dks cams safe? are they as good as the 272's
IMO YES! They are suppose to be a mirror image of the HKS cams. The DKS 1's are 264/272's, and the DKS 2's are 272/272's.
Like I said, I have had zero problems with these cams, and I'm using stock valve springs.
Your best bet is to give Darren a call (owner of FFWD connection) or an email. He has bar none the best customer service that I have ever experianced thus far. He even got back to me on a holiday!

sorry for my ingornace, but what does FFWD stand for? Is that forced performance?
edit: also does anyone have sound clips?

I have FP2Xs and Manley springs. Together, they equal the price of HKS cams and I can rev to 8500 all day long with more lift and a higher ramp rate (more power up to AND down low). You can't go wrong with Forced Performance when it comes to a trustworthy, proven company who knows what to deliver to satisfy!

Everyone who takes a ride in my car swears by them. They love how they "hit" and want exactly the same. These cams sell themselves once you get them. Unfortunately, we can't test-drive cams:notgood:

It pulls as hard at 15 psi as my stock cams at 20 psi.

I actually have crower springs retainers. So I guess now my choice is between hks 264/274 or some FP2 or FP2x

FFWD stands for fast forward, I wouldn't be so quick to toss them out just because you haven't heard of them. They are a mirror of the HKS hence the name DKS, and you even pay half of what HK$ wants for theirs. :thumb:

PS update your vehicle profile

So I've been searching for 2 days now and I still have yet to find any sound clips of the hks cams. Does anyone have any?
