the car came with a 2 blocks, 2 heads 2 sets of pistons, pretty much ALMOST every part i need, but the worst part is that he gave me a bucket of bolts for the engine... im a lil worried a cant build a motor out of what i have... so i think im going to sell the blocks (ones bored .40 over) sell the heads (ones brand new) and sell the hks cams. pretty much all of it and try to just buy a new motor. what do you guys think? i hope i can come up with a enough money...

Well, in my humble opinion, you've got several options. All depends on what you want to accomplish with the car (drag, weekend warrior, autocross,etc..)and how much time and money, especially money, you are willing to spend. If you plan to modify the car I would keep the cams. If you want a good daily driver or race car you can just buy a engine but as you will read on dsmtuners that doesn't mean that you want have any headaches. If you have parts to build you a motor by a good machine shop then you basically will be paying for the labor. As I said before, all depends on what you are trying to do and how much money you are willing to spend.

I would find a good dsm shop talk to them about taking the parts you have in and building the motor in exchange for all left over parts. it sounds like you have almost 2 motors there, and some dsm parts are not to cheap, I am sure you will have to spend some money, like on new head gasket , timing belt, water and oil pump,ect.... things you should have brand new on the rebuilt engine. If it is a good dsm shop they should have some good used parts to put on the motor.(what you are missing) This would save you the headache off selling and buying parts and proley save you some money and you know it would be done right.:thumb:

thanks guys, well the good news is that i wok at az, and get a discount on parts, and i finaly went out in the garage and shuffled through the parts, the good news, one of the heads is band new, new valves, springs inc, and its all put together for me. got all new gasket set, and tested the alt and starter both were good, now i need a power steering system, a ign system, and a timing kit. im going to salvage the power steerng system and ign from one the local junk yards. (theres plenty here in memphis) im geting a new timing kit, oil pump and water pump. and i plan to autocross it/ dd/ weekend toy. the only thing im worried about is if i have all the nuts and bolts for the short block...

Sorry for the o.t but if you sell the cams Ill gladly take them off your hands for a reasonable price of course. :thumb:

Oh yea back on topic... I would say work with the blocks you got and build something nasty for a badass street car.
