help with throttle body issue.

So guys my 1g has this issue where it starts to rev at 2000-2500rpms after 30 minutes of driving. Then when you start it again it revs high like 2000rpms and if i floss on high way for 15 minutes it goes back to normal 750-800 rpms. Im stumped dang talon.

get a haynes manual and check your tps accordingly, check the biss srew on the top of the throttle body and make sure the o-ring isnt shot or the screw isnt backing out , ground the timing wire and pin 10 on the diag plug and set the biss, test the coolant temp sensor too.also make sure the iac is functioning properly .last but not least test the maf ohms and the voltage or ohms harness side of all those components .if you read the sections in the book on those parts you will get an understanding of how this will help you trouble shoot .

It never stalls though at lights or in nuetral it just goes to 2000 sometimes 2500. could evo 560 injectors be a part of this? The idle srew isnt backing out either. Its weird if i kinda spool her up and get on it for a bit and when i get to a light it idles normal. When i park it and shut it off and start it it goes right to 2000rpms and just idles there.

Could it be a boost leak?? I just think if that was it it would run low and rough cause the lack of air. Thanks for all helping

yup either your tps or biss is not adjusted correctly.
do a BLT that would answer a lot of questions if you have a leak

I had some similar issues too. Lots of good suggestions here, but I'd just add checking the throttle cable itself.

I would find that as my dsm heated up, without enough slack in the cable and with the expansion from the heat, the cable would remain open a hair and rev would go up to 2000-2500 rpm.

As mentioned above, check the throttle cable and make sure its not stretched, replace the ISC with another known good one, adjust the TPS and perform a boost leak test. If you have leaks then fix them and zip tie all the vacuum hose connections. Hope this helps!

thanks a lot guys so i just swapped throttle bodies and it solved it. also i have no boost leaks
