Ok so I just got a 96 gst only aftermarket part it has is an ACT 2600 clutch nothing else. I have read through the tech guide and I know what parts to upgrade injectors, turbo, manifold etc...... My budget is going to be probably around 4k, I want to know what parts you guys recommend I want to push 300+ to the wheel if possible but I want to do it safely, dont want a blown engine and tranny. Im not new to the car scene just new to DSM. I like the idea of taking out a V8 with a 4cyl, my previous project was a Mustang V6 471hp/483 tq, this is just a new project and I need to be pointed in the right direction. Also if any of you guys know anything on how to prevent crankwalk that would be helpful have not seen any real info on that thanks.

You will need to upgrade your fuel system as well as your turbo. There are so many options your gonna half to search the forums and fined a setup that will work for your power goals. I am constantley upgrading and trying to make more power, a lot of trial and error. Your not going to be able to avoid crank walk on a stock 7bolt its going to happen at some point especially if you upgrade to a stronger clutch.

So would I have to build the engine to prevent the crankwalk?

Let's try and use some of the results from the search I did FOR you. These cars have been out of production for 10 years, dude. Basic information is readily available.

He means swap to a 6 bolt block. They came in the first gen turbo engines not all though I'm not exactly sure what years they came in (please fill this in for meLOL)

Read the links I posted as well. I'm scared to see how your previous 55posts look at this point...

No, a built motor can still crankwalk.

Not every 7-bolt engine can crankwalk. there is no way to know if it will happen. Odds are you have a ton of miles, so you should be ok. Just do some bolt ons and have fun.

If you want to make big power and you are still worried about crankwalk then build a 6-bolt. I have a built 7 bolt and have never worried about crank walk, but some may consider me luckily. It all depends on budget / goals.

My car has about 64,000 miles... How much would it cost to do a 6 bolt swap is it a direct swap?and i heard that 98-99 they put a different 7bolt to eliminate crankwalk any info on this?

Ignoring my links will get your thread locked. You have yet to ask a question that isn't covered by them...
