now the oil gauge is a mechanical gauge and i have no idea how to hook it up or will it be safe too.

my one friend something about having hot oil in your car and that i was brave.

now whats the actual difference between the mechanical gauge and the electric gauge. and how easy are they to install??

any help on how to install them both or links that will help me out.

i plan on buying a better gauge pod and gauge a little down the line.

i would say no i really do not want hot oil running through into the car because what if it starts to leak or anything that could get pretty messy.

ill check those out i never installed any type of gauges so hopefully someone can help me out.

and also you think i should just get an electric oil psi gauge and dump the mechanical one.

Don't buy mechanical gauges. Hot fluids in the car isn't a good idea.

Get a electrical one.

The difference between a mechanical gauge and electrical is rather simple. Price wise there is a good difference. An example of a mechanical boost gauge is one that would require you running a vacuum line from a boost source through your firewall and hooking it up to your gauge. An electrical one would have a sensor mounted somewhere in your engine bay with your vacuum hose running to it, from there it would have a few wires run through the firewall and to the back of your gauge and the respective power/ground hook ups.

not to be rude but I don't get why everyone is afraid of running a mechanical oil pressure gauge. my grandfather has had the same sunpro triple gauge set in his galaxy 500 since as long as I can remember (at least 25yrs) and not once have I ever heard him say I hope it don't start leaking. hell my dad made me put them ina few old trucks he used to own. they both leaked because I did something wrong during install. so as long as you don't use cheap parts and install them correctly ie don't cut/nic the line pulling it thru the firewall it will be fine

Thanks guys for the input I'm guessing these both are mechinacl gauges I prob use the boost And If I do use the oil psi one I think I would need a better Hose the one that came with it looks cheep.

Also it seems hooking up a boost gauge is simple from what I read but I really have not found any links to install a oil psi gauge.
