HELP weird noise

I searched but not sure if the really relate so here it goes. I started getting this weird pretty loud tapping or knocking noise about a week ago, but it wont start up till the car is warmed up about 5-10 minutes of driving. Also it wont start doing it till the rpm's are over 2500 you could sit there stoped and rev it all the way up but wont do it.

When it started my oil was about a quart low, so I kept it easy and changed 2 days later . Now for the first drive which was 15-20 minutes long it didnt do it. Later drove home and it started up again.

Anyone ever had this happen to them, or know what it is. Any ideas or fixes please thanks for the help.

Is this sound slower than a cylinder head tick(collapsed lifter for an example)? If it is a slow knocking sound you might try pulling the spark plug wire off each cylinder while it is making this sound, and if pulling the wire makes the noise go away its a problem in your bottem end.

I would not pull the wire for more than 15 seconds, and use an insulated tool to prevent doing the pottie dance.

Cant do that because you have to be moving and hit around 2500 rpm's but I will say that the noise seems like it will get faster or a little louder if you keep the rpms going up with boost. May be its the lifters I had crank walk twice so I pretty much know its not the bottom end because the sound is diffrent. Ill go to autozone and put some lucas in it. No one had this before

Balance shaft bearing failed from being run without oil.
