Well since i got the car i haven't really messed with it on the street too much. Well got my exhaust leaks and everything fixed today, and i went out with a few buddies on the street to mess around. Everything was fine car is boosting good everything is running strong. Went to back out of a store where we stopped off and i hear a clanking sound coming from the rear. I didnt think anything of it because the car has been sitting so ti-rods, suspension, everhting of that nature is stiff and sounds like a creaking bed. Well i was coming to a stop light and went to down shift into 3rd and to 2nd and i heard it again. Thats when i got nervous. Seems like it only really does it in reverse and down shifting. I have heard it a couple times shifting normally. When i baby the shifting alot it's fine. Weird thing is i was praticing launching the car at 5500rpm, but i really didnt drop the clutch real hard. I sorta babied it alot. It's weird and if anyone has idea what could be possibly going it would be appreciated.

I just had almost the same issue after looking for the worst I found the problem to be the upper control are bushing that connects the arm to the nuckle, the bushing had worn away and my nuckle was slamming into the control arm, Bad part is that the bushings are about 70 bucs for the issue, the good news IF this is the issue I use a rubber gromet from my old exhaust and wedged it in there until i can find a nice price on a whole car set.

Im not the expert but your down shifting your car does throw foward which COULD be a bushing issue, if you knew a little more abouts the noise is coming from then I could probly help more, but even so just for ish and giggles take a look at that bushing I was talking about. Also how loud is it on a scale of 1 - 10 and also does it sound VERY loud Inside the car or something you can hear more outside.
