i am needing some help on my eclipse engine. and what will you suggest. i am going with forged parts. let me know what you think? anything will help. thanks Dustin

So i take it you want someone to throw a list together for you?

How about listing what parts you were thinking of going with.

Bottom line, figure out how much money you can spend and from that the other decisions get easier.

While it's fun to dream and mix and match what if parts, you might want to figure out who is going to build or sell you your engine and let them decide based on what they have used, what your going to get with what you can spend.

Hey what's up man I noticed you are from GJ, I stay in Rifle, so I offer to help you in whatever way possible be it in person or thru these forums, now before we move on theres gonna be questions asked as far as your dsm goes. How much knowledge do you have about these cars in general? What are your plans for your gsx, what's your budget?

i am saving the money now so i can do the build. and i plan to drag it a couple times at the track. i am shooting for a goal of 600hp. i know i will be doing forged pistons, and rods. then if crank is good i will use it. i want to do a balance shaft elimination kit as well. i don't know what brand to go with so maybe you can help me on that? also i have had a dsm sense i was 16 or so and every day i learn a lot more. i have been saving for this build to.

Well, if you want to get to 600hp and not break stuff every time you take it down the strip, it's not going to be cheap at all. I guess the big thing right now is you've gotta decide which route you're going to go, because there are several different ways to get to the hp goals you are looking for. You can bore and stroke and port the poop out of your engine and you'll end up with better low end torque response, or you can go for the least amount of rotational mass and be hyper balanced and rev up into the 10k range. You can bolt a turbo on that will suck in enough air to create a black hole, you can twin turbo it, you can compound turbo it (my favorite...thanks for the inspiration Paul)...you can fuel it with anything under the sun and spray nitro, meth, etc...the variety of combinations is virtually endless, so putting a price on a 600hp build isn't easy.

If I were you, I'd spend a lot of time reading through build journals and seeing how others have done it, you'll likely find stuff that you like. Also, guys typically list the prices of the parts they are using, this can help you out with your budget question.

i have been doing some reading on other builds. and am wondering should i build a stoker motor? and i am taking it down to the block.

its going to be a street car but i am going to drag it a few times. i want to put forged internals in but i dont know what but to go for?

How would you go about putting a twin turbo set up a 4 cylinder?

OP: Do a lot of searching and find out what kind of set up you want to go with, we cant tell you what you want you have to decide that. It definitely will not be cheap however

You should research corey bower he built a stock bottom end 7 bolt just rebuilding the head and is running 10's... I think you should find a engine that someone is selling and build if your trying to go all out... and save that that way you have a car to get you around and have a motor at home that your working to get you to your 600hp goal
