Ohhhhh F&F...You know what, screw it. I'm gonna sell both my dsms and get 4 black civics with all the important mods: green street glow.

Anyways! Back to my build: Thanks to all who want to see me succeed and wished me well.

I'm gonna stop talking about this and start doing it. See ya on the road in 3 years

Make a build blog with pictures before and after it'll be a good read.
You can do it, with your list and information on here it can be done.

Have fun

If you need ideas, take a look at the mod list of pretty much anyone running mid-10's or faster on this site. It's going to take a serious commitment for an average Joe to go that fast on a turbo as small as a 20G. You're either going to have to choose...built engine, small turbo; stockish engine, big turbo. If stock-engined 20G cars could run 10's, everyone would be doing it.

What it will take to get your car to the 6's in the 1/8th will WALK the V8's in the 1/4. Generally speaking, V8 cars are faster to the 1/8th and our cars are faster to the 1/4. You can run a 10.6 @ 138 and the V8 guy will run a 10.8 @ 130....so even if he beats you in the 1/8th you'll still take the win light on a 1/4-mile race.

No offense but good luck even if you do build a car that traps 130+mph he is still ging to YANK you right outta the hole....His car most likely cuts 1.3x 60s your car wont even start rolling out hard until the 330 mark and you will have to run him down and by that time it will be to late.....

I wish you luck tho and remember the longer it takes for you to match up to his current setup he might have a new setup and be even quicker!

Challange him to a race on real street tires.

An auto trany is a good idea. My Syclone is an automatic, the torque converter is correctly matched to the turbo. It is so much easier to launch than my 5-speed DSMs.

The T/A owner would be a stupid fool to run on street tires......

Run what you brung and HOPE its enough!

Here's his car and set up:
2002 Trans Am ws6. Scoggin Dicky short block, forged rods and pistons, ported heads, MS3 cam, NOS wet plate kit with a 200hp shot, 3600 stalll, 578hp/520tq. Best 1/8th mile et is a 6.920 @ 104.62mph

Something doesn't add up, auto and went 6.9@104 :hmm: He must have a shitty launch. I ran I believe a 6.7@105 with a 1.60 60' (auto too)

I thought you was wanting to keep this car full streetable bro? I think if he manned up and dropped his nitrous shot you would meet this goal a lot easier while keeping the streetability of the car. Like 96awd said there's plenty dsm's in stl that could put on a good show for him ;)

Ahem.. It's his power adder, get over it. The first thing he's going to say when confronted with a spray comment is your car has a turbo, why don't you pull that off? right?

OP can MAN UP himself and build a faster (quicker) car, or he can accept the fact other people have cars faster than his (who cares?). If it were me personally, I'd give the guy the props he deserves for building such a vehicle, and then I'd hang out with him and learn as much as I could. :)

Good luck! Its going to take a well put together dsm to go that fast.

I went 7.2 @ 110 with 579hp. A better 60, would have helped my ET though.

strap C4 to his nitrous tanks or have someone snipe him from the crowd..

or switch is gas tank with 87 octane hahah lots of knock will stop him!

A sniper round wont set off C4. Trust me. Its what I do for a living. And Jon you better beat that ####er.

good luck man. You remind me of a v8 hater that got smashed and made fun of... oh wait :) LOL sorry. Around my area there is a lot of v8 lovers and there is a select few that can actually keep up with some of our DSMs and other magnificent cars. I think you got high hopes but go for it. the least that can happen is your car will be faster hen it was

If you don't take this too seriously it'll be fun, just don't spend $12k on a $4k car ya know. :barf:

Keep in mind Lucas English and Nate Crisman would beat this guy, so you have models to follow and both are small turbos (Hta68 and 16g) so you don't need a bigger turbo for 1/8th mile or to spend that $ killing your budget here.

I don't think he'll drop the Juice or Slicks and it's not very responsible to race like this on the street, nor do you get the accurate time slips so it's Mano A Mano.

Weight Reduction (sub 3k would help)
Auto Conversion (unfortunately time and $)
Power (keep 16g, new Magnus Intake and FP2's might be all you need up top)
Suspension
Tuning and Launch Experience

BTW, I think a great FMIC and Meth Injection on Pump could pull this off too, no need for twin pumps or an E85 conversion.

Piece it together and you'll be respectable, hopefully not blowing your savings account doing it. :thumb:

I agree:
Auto Tranny (blue line mod or chipped)
HTA68 (basically the best 16G out right now) ported to the max (along with bigger piping)
Water/meth injection
A small or no intercooler (less restrictive...you are just running the 1/8th)
Sticky tires of some sort (your not English racing :) )
ECM Link
E85 and some ID1000 injectors
weight reduction and lots of it.

I truly think the auto is a must for what you are trying to do...hell next time something like the clutch or tranny breaks on my car I'm going auto LOL.

This will be purely a track car right?

Too be honest, he wouldn't be hitting those times without his nitrous..But you could say that your car came stock witha turbo, and his didn't come stock with nitrous..Race him straight up no nitrous and see how he stacks up against the awd...

Just race the dude straight up as is so there are no excuses. Asking another racer to de-mod their car so you can have a better chance of winning is nonsence. You'll get more respect just going out and racing him straigh up and losing then making a bunch of excuses how he has nitrous and all that other jazz and he should de-mod it cause you arent fast enough. If u can't hang you can't hang, just keep chipping away at it, or find slower cars to race.

Good luck brother and dont back down from this guy. mostly v8's are all bark and no bite.. but from what i see from this t/a. be carefull. Good luck:thumb:
