I like this list .. not just sure about the 2000cc's, maybe 1600's for E85 with the Meth!

The 68HTA is a beast with quick spool.. i think you can do it with a tight tune and some seat time!
This will take time, and cost a good about if you want it done right. Just be prepared for the car to break more often! With that kind of power and abuse you will be putting on it, things are going to break!

Good luck, I have similar dreams, but i want my car to be a street driven beast!

Here's his car and set up:
2002 Trans Am ws6. Scoggin Dicky short block, forged rods and pistons, ported heads, MS3 cam, NOS wet plate kit with a 200hp shot, 3600 stalll, 578hp/520tq. Best 1/8th mile et is a 6.920 @ 104.62mph

Those numbers sound like he didnt spray...I gotta couple buddies who got F bodys and LS1's unless being auto has something to do with the numbers..

cause a built Ls1 with heads, cams and 200 shot is not a slouch car...

and judging by his short block...dude has money...bet he has beast ass suspension...atleast 275's in the back....most likely 315's

sheesh...thats a fast F body

Ah hell.. Just get slicks a good clutch and put a 300HP direct port kit on it.. DONE ! LOL just kidding but since this thread is still going i was reading along and chuckled to myself when i thought "just put a huge shot of NAWZZZ on it" LOL

But on the other hand if the block and other components could take it and you could get it to the ground that would be the cheapest fastest way to outrun him, but then again you constantly have to fill the bottle, not to mention all the other parts you'd be replacing from the massive torque the nitrous would introduce to everything through your slicks. I use a single nozzle shot to spool my turbo but back when i had my 89 LX foxbody there wasn't much that could touch it in the line of "street driven' cars when i would finally get into third and put that 150 shot out there.. many many bottle fills later i ended up doing the old junk yard twin t3's on the car.. ran really well with accell DFI but i couldn't keep headgaskets in the 302

anyway best of luck, and when in doubt just up the nitrous jetting a little (a.k.a. a LOT) :D

So how is the build coming? Since you've posted this thread I've added lower gears (was running stock gears), a higher stall converter, quite a few suspension mods (I had ZERO suspension mods when I raced the GTR), also stepped up to a 28" rear tire (still on stock 17" wheels). I will probably add some light weight drag wheels to the car this year but that will be it.
So far by best time with the T/A is 6.85 @ 104mph and a 1.62 60ft time.
Keep up the work John, I have the upmost respect for fast tuner cars, it takes a lot of work to get them in the 6's (1/8th mile) while keeping it a street car, but it will be worth it in the end!

Also curious on the update, guess you can race me before you step up to the fast car LOL

:) hi johnnnnnnnn

Lol, thats a nice T/A. You should stick a pair of hta68's on it. :p

HI

For those of you who don't know Cape T/A (Nathan) and clbd39 are both my cousins. Over year ago I finally settled in my job and had a steady income, so I made myself a bucket list of about 100 things I wanted to do before I die. Beating Nathan was one of those, only because his was the fastest car around here. For those of you who know me for my DSM song, he's the Nathan I mention at the end.

ANYWHO, I started saving up a crap ton of money for a monster build, and yeah, as you can see from older threads I psyched myself up to beat him so I could keep myself motivated. About 3 months later I found out my wife was pregnant and everything that I thought mattered didn't any more. Thread resolved.

The DSM build money is now in my daughters savings account and I have become apathetic to the fact that I will never beat Nathan's car. I'll have a 300 HP GSX and that'll be all she wrote for my car life.

i'd race him for ya, i probably wouldent run lower then 11s, although with some really good tuning i could prob get close to 10s, ( i havent even been to the track yet though) shame im so far from you guys id love to hit up the track and go head to head against some V8s.... after all, i gotta test the full potential of my SCM6152 DBB before i change it out for a 3082HTA (full street car, full interior, spare tire, and subs) only weight reduction is a VIS CF hood

That's cool man! Gotta have priorities, if it was easy to go that fast everyone would do it. I have the TA because I felt it was the best platform for drag racing a street car. My times of spending money on the car are winding down though with a little one on the way too! See ya around bud!
