Help ! I fudged one of my injectors !

Hmm....maybe I didn't get em from JNZ. I know I got a set from somewhere, ### I JUST took them out of the bag. Pretty sure it was from JNZ. One phone call could figure it out, ya know.

Are they stock or aftermarket?

If they are PTE's then you can order a set from them, just make sure when you install the black cap, you soften it up using a lamp or some heat source, dont melt it though!. Youll have to call customer service to order them, theyll help you out.

I believe the folks over at FIC (fuel injector clinic) have the ones you need for the 450's.

I lost a cap from an injector on one of my other vehicles (supercharged thunderbird) and it made no difference at all. They will still work fine.

The pintle caps are just there to protect the pintle itself. As long as the pintle is not damaged, you'll be fine. BUT, as is always a good saying when working on cars, "do it once and do it right". I'd find another cap just for peace of mind.

they will work fine, you might have to put something around the tip thou if you are still using the stock injector seals (i think the cap needs to be on for a proper fit). otherwise just go get a rubber grommet to replace the seal. i got a set from here i think..... eBay Store - Mr Injector: Fuel Injector Service Kits, Reconditioned Fuel Injectors, Fuel Injector Service or was it here....... Injector-Rehab - Fuel injector cleaning, flow testing, and complete blueprinting service. i don't remember...

When I replaced my injector insulators I had a cracked pintle. I went to checkers and it's included in the individual injector seal kits, or at autozone, but they cost 3 times as much for some reason at AZ.

Anyways, the hole in the pintle cap wasn't beveled and looked a little small so I drilled it out slightly to match the others, then used a much larger bit to put the taper in it. The plastic is soft so be gentle.

I would strongly suggest replacing your injector insulators with the home depot racing rubber grommets as they seem to be a common source of boost leak, and it only costs about $2 for all 4. You hae the rail out so ya might as well...

Home Depot Racing huh LOL ? I'll have to check those out. Havn't had any luck finding the pintle caps yet but I didn't think to check Autozone, there usually either over priced or don't have what I need, but I'll swing by there this evening and see what they've got. Thanks to all of you guys for the piece of mind. I want everything done right the first time and don't want small, stupid shit like this messing anything up. It dosn't matter how long you've been into DSM's because you never stop learning.

Ya seriously, Home Depot. I know it sounds wierd but I read an article (think it was on this site) where someone had used these simple 3/8 rubber grommets to replace the insulators. Mine were old and leaking a ton if boost so I swapped out for the HDR ones. Work great!
