help fresh rebuild serious issues

I have a 95 eclipse gst. The motor was just rebuilt forged rods forged pistons cometic gasket, head rebuilt ss valves etc. all the good stuff lots of money....

anyhow the mechanic called me today told me it was ready I picked it up drove about 40 miles and boom the car stalled. I tried to start it and nothing .... I called the mechanic he had me check the voltage on the battery which is one day old.. it was find check this check that... He then told me to check the timing belt I told him nope it looks good its still tight and not torn. I have my friend watch it while I tried to start the car again and it isn't even moving now!

I am freaking out lots of money into the car and I don't even know where to start or what to expect. Please fellow DSMers help me!

i would have the tech who did it check it over it could be a number of things

Just wanted to thank everyone for their valueable support and information. Now I need to find a new turbo the 16g isn't going to cut it!
