Help *forums didnt help* NO spark

Okay

I have a 1991 Eagle talon tsi, new coilpack, new plugs, timings right, ecu is new. Car was running fine, it was idl surging so we moved the CAS and adjusted the throttle until everthing worked fine. SO i get in my car and my dad pulls out the spark plug wires and the sh*t hit the fan. ALl of a sudden i was running on two cylanders 1 and 4, checked coil pack and it was only one side that wasnt producing spark. So we tried an old coil pack that we knows work, same thing so idk what to do. Please help me Car starts fine, just spits and sputters and vibrates at 500 rpms. Please help thanks

Forms say it might be the Cam Angle sensor, i dont have any engine lights, and i dont have any DSM tuners or loggers so i cant check error codes(not any anyway).

Yeah see if you can come across another cam sensor, and the coil pack ignitor. The ignitor is bolted to the side of the intake manifold right below the coil pack.

Do the above, and for simplicity sake, check and make sure that the spark plug wires did not lose/detach the metal connectors.

Do like they said and check your CAS or just replace it to make sure, and if that does not work then it is prob. your MPI fuse. It is located on your positive battery cable right next to the battery. There is a group of 3 fuses in a little black box, the MPI is the fuse closest to the driver side. It is prob. blown.

Okay got a used but working CAS, wired it up and it turns out its not the CAS. At least it still only fires on 1 and 4 cylander, tested the colipacks the colis are good. So tonight i can going to check the fuses thanks guys any more ideas will help, also i know i need an ISC but what would you get a new OEM one ($240) used rebuit(new version $130 with new o ring) or a used one that works (39.99) get back to me thanks

Okay went home opened up the hood, went to the positive cable opened up the black box, turns out none of them were blown so i quick wrap up. Coil packs new bough aug this year havent driven it more than seriously 30 min sense(got three of them, this is my project). ECU new and checked in aug, CAS used but works, plugs are not the problem, IDK about the wires but there is no spark for sure from the 2 and 3 cylanders, theres fuel it runs just only on two. MPI fuse is fine so idk i am going nutz

did you check the power transistor ? i had the same problem on my laser got one from a scrap yard for $3 works great

Well its worth a try, problem is most of the damn junk yards around here the cars a stripped but i will see what i can do. Do you guys(or gals) know any website that i could order them off of. thanks

OKay ordered a used but working, power transistor, to check to see if thats the problem before i spend 160 on a new one.

it sounds to me that it is bad plug wires. You say your father pulled the plugs and plug wires prior to the misfires... the metal connectors could have came off, or the wires your have a short in them and the spark isn't even reaching the plug.

did we try a new ECU ?
did you acualy TEST the fuses.. or just look at them ?

Okay so i installed the power transistor no difference. Did i try a new ecu? no i havent you really think that could be the problem, if i just got the rebuilt one this summer? Think pulling out the spark lug wire would do that. and when i test the coilpacks i do not use the spark plug wires. so i am just now really curious on what occured. Also someone brought up a ignitor is that the same as a power transistor or is that something different, because i havent checked that out yet or i ahve much of an idea on how it looks any input would help thanks.(I do have a datalogger now, really cant give much help for this tho, no engine lights either)

I have this same problem, except I'm not getting spark from 1 and 4 cylinders. Theres no juice coming from the coil. Is there a writeup on replacing the coil? Someone pm me if you know where it is.

If you're not getting spark on 1 and 4, I would suspect your power transistor module (ignitor pack) is probably dead, otherwise the coil itself is very messed up.

Ok car was sitting for long time bad ecu changed ecu got new batt and now no fire on cyl 2 and 3 i have new ecu fuel pump fuel filter spark plugs i too had an old workin coil but it still doesnt fire i have a 2.0 non turb135k help

Now after a break from college, i continued work on my talon, and it turns out i just had a lose connection and the previous owners had a split wires from the wiring harnest, pretty much i repaired everything up and now i have all four cylinders. so gl with your problem and try your best to check everything.

I didn't lie it did run good,

DId a JDm swap put a low mileage turbo cyclone in it. ran great two days, had it running while i was outside came back in, only running on 1 and 4 cylinders. Completely different engine, so i swap CAS, COil packs, power transistors, check the fuse MDI, new plugs, new wires, still only on 2 and 3, so i am swapping the ECU to a very reputable ECU rebuilders that give you a 1 year warrent and will acually let you take the ecu for 5 days to see if its the problem ordering it this weekend. Any other possible ideas

Well I bought a rebuilt ECU, and not from those lame companys, i bought one for MG MotoGuys garage cost me 199.99 plus 37 shipping for overnight and i 100.00 core charge. They replace not only the capacitors but everyhting and are very knowledable they told me that it could possibly be the ecu because the coilpacks fire 1 4 and 2 3 at the same time and that the computer controls each time the one coil for 1 and 4 and 2 and 3 fire. So i got it installed it back in the car, started the key and wow its now runs good and strong on all four cylinders. so sending the old so called rebuilt back to MG to get my core back which the give you a prepaid box to do so. Definitly recommand doing business with them. ALso 5 day money back trial, i had the choice to see if it fixes the problem if not i could send it back in five days and get the full money returned. please help me i have done every thing you did and still nothing can you tell me where did you find the loose conection and where did the guy plit thw wires please i need help and seens that you done every thing i did and still have no spark on any plug wire please help thanks.
