OK, so I've been trying to do a little research, but I'm not having any luck finding anything close to what I'm experiencing with my 95 Talon TSi.

I've had some issues with spark plug wires being crossed. I seemed to have figured it out, and decided to buy some new plugs and wires.

However, when I went out to pull the car into the garage, it was dead.

I decided to pull out my battery to have it tested, and it was indeed bad. Actually, it wasn't even the right battery for the car.

I installed the new battery, but still don't seem to have any power. Nothing turns on with the key in the ignition, and the only way I could get anything to happen was when I jumped it with my other vehicle.

But even with jumping it, I still can't get it to turn over. i can hear it sound lik its trying, but nothing. After unhooking the jumper cables, I'm still getting nothing.

My thought process is making me believe I have a bad battery. Could an bad alternator even cause any of the issues I'm having?

I appreciate any advice that can be given

If it's trying to turn over but can't it would be the starter solenoid. Pull the starter and have it tested. It's only the alt if the battery doesn't charge up while running, I think. Also check your fuses like the ENG (engine) fuse or IGN (ignition) fuse. I pull those out everytime I want to clear my CEL, with those out the car will not do squat.

If you installed a new battery, chances are that the battery is not your issue. If you turn your key to on the "on" position and do not get power to any of the things in your car such as lights, radio, windows etc, then my first look would be at the fuses. I'm not sure about the 2G but on the 1G the Ignition fuse is the one of 4 that is attached to the positive battery terminal. This is usualy an 80amp fuse and can be visually checked to see if it has been blown. My bets are that is what is causing your problem.

If the ignition fuse is still good, then check all the other fuses as well as to verify a good connection to the new battery. If you find no other blown fuses, you may have a bad connection somewhere in the ignition circuit that could be causing problems. I am no electrical guru unfortunately.

If it is making a clicking noise when you are trying to start it it is either your battery or your starter/solenoid. Check all of your wires to those components to be sure you don't have an open circuit. If that doesn't help come back and retell symptoms with more detail. Also check your alternator ground that is what caused my car to not start once even though everything else was connected and the battery was good.

Test the battery with a multimeter. If you get power when you try to jump the fuses/wires should be fine.

Alright, here's a little update on the situation. I still have nothing.

All of the fuses seem just fine.

I used a voltemeter to see if I was getting any power. I hooked the leads up to the battery cables and it read 12.5v. I really don't understand how my battery is sending power, but nothing has it. I'm gonna go out today and try to jump it again, to see if I have any new symptoms. If that doesnt work, I'm going to pull the starter and alternator off to have them tested.

Anything else I should be looking for? I appreciate all the help so far.

I really wish i knew where to start. I checked a few grounds, starting with the one to the chassis, and everything seems normal. I wish I could give more information, but I'm just kind of stuck. Any advice would be so greatly appreciated.

I completely missed your post. I went out and checked the alternator ground, and it wasnt grounded properly. re-grounded, problem solved. thanks TheMitsuGS-T
