420A Car is not starting and i need help.

My eclipse has a 420a and has around 140,000 miles. Not too long ago I started hearing a rattling sound that sound like a bad lifter so I was like ok. Let me just check them out when I have time cuz I've heard of people driving on those for years. Anyway, this turned worse. I was going out one day and my car stalls on the highway. I turn it back on and keep going. Keep in mind the sound of what I thought was a bad lifter didn't really show its head too much when I started the car then it got progressively worse as I kept driving. Then the first stall happened, I restart it while moving, and i keep going. Then the car just starts making a whole new sound. More growl like and sounds more like a motorcycle than a car. And now it won't start unless I give it gas and it doesn't stay on. I'm hoping someone on here can help.

Let me check on my crystal ball.. Well a video would help, there's 1001 things what could've gone wrong, in worst scenario you have a hole in on your block and you can see rod and piston, might be messed up timing, can be a faulty valve, list is long hat it could be but with this information it's hard to tell for sure

Lifters normally tick. Rattling or knocking us usually lower end bearings. A video would really help. Have you scanned the car for codes? Is the check engine light on?

I am gonna check for codes this weekend and will get back to you with those. I cannot get a video of what it is like now but I do have a video of what is sounded like before it killed itself. There also is no metal shavings in the oil
