I am currently in Iraq, but will be home in a few weeks. I have been ordering parts here and there, but the bulk majority will be ordered in the next week or so. I have never done any of these jobs before, and plan on tackling them all at once seeing they are all interelated. I could use any advise, as well as a list of "extras" that are needed for each job. This includes any special tools I will need besides standard sockets, wrenches, ect, as well as extra parts needed like seals. If you have knowledge of one or more jobs, please chime in with your insite. Don't leave off even the smallest part that I am not thinking of.

Thats a pretty big list you got there, I would highly suggest going to vfaq.com for some detailed DiY car work (they include a lot of pictures usually). Or while your getting all this stuff just go buy a Haynes manual at Napa or something (the best manual I've found so far for the money). One problem I would say try not to run into is, if you have never done any of these job before don't rush into it and don't get too much on your plate at once. That's how it seems like most DSM's wind up on my craigslist, people tear their car down trying to fix everything at once and then can't get it back together. But apart from that good luck to ya

I have read some of the vFAQs, and have a haynes manual and service manuals. They are at home though, and I am trying to assemble the parts needed so its waiting on my return. Really I have no choice but to do this all at one, well at least the front end stuff and the clutch. You have to tear most of that down to install a clutch, so it only makes sense not to tear it down twice.

sounds like u pretty much got or are ordering anything if u are doing the cltch i would change the clutch for and fulcrum ball and u are forgetting the beer LOL but other then those i think u have it all

Any plans for the flywheel? Like a new one or resurfacing? Also: inspect or replace the rear main seal.

If you are replacing the clutch I would go ahead and replace the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. Usually they will go out soon after a clutch change. Not always but I would rather replace it all and only have to bleed the sstem once. I would also order a braided clutch line to replace the factory rubber piece. I agree with magna...You will either need to resurface or replace the flywheel. I have always used fidanza flywheels as I change out the friction surface at every clutch change.

Thanks guys. I plan on resurfacing. How much do you have to tear apart to replace the master and slave cylinders if I do not change them and they go out? They are pretty pricey, and I am already at the edge of my budget. Will they cause damage to anything?

They wont cause damage to anything else. They will just not let the clutch engage or disengage. You will just have to remove and replace the slave or the master cylinder and rebleed the system if either one fails.
