I went with the mother's mag polish method and it worked wonders. My headlights look great, they are definitely not brand new, but $5 for polish vs. $400 for 1 new headlight at the dealership. You can't beat that!

i use wood alcohol. Works awesome, i used it on my previous zx2 made the yellow dissapear, became crystal clear.

I did sandpaper and the mothers mag thing and now my headlights are fogged worse than before. Thinking I may just get one of those restoration kits from autozone or somethin

What grades of sandpaper did you use?

1000 grit maybe? I can't remember I just know I was trying to use some not to harsh stuff becuase I didn't want to scratch them.

You need to do it in steps, from more coarse to progressively finer grit. If you started at 1000, you just turned the bigger scratches and buildup into a foggy mess.

Start with something around 600, and then go to 1000, 1500, 2000 and then polish. At each step, make sure you completely remove the bigger scratches from the previous grit. Wet sanding works much better than dry also.

Depends on how bad they are. On the last set I did, I would have been polishing for days.
