Im looking at getting a header for my 96 Eclipse GSX. I have a MHI Big16G turbo on the car atm. Im going from stock exhaust mani to the following header (the Mits one of course). Now will this bolt up with the stock exhaust T (circled in pic) that connects the turbo to the downpipe of the exhaust or do i have to change the complete setup?

Agreed with the above post, but the Ebay ad says "T3" but shows a Mitsu flange, so I'd stay away. I'd recommend an EVO 3 manifold as I ran one with great results with my 20G and FP35. Virtual Dyno netted me 440/400 all day on E85 with my 20G. I know it doesn't look as "flashy" as a nice individual runner header, but they're very bulletproof with regards to longevity. Great mid-range and stock fitment/appearance. Also, much more can be had with simple porting of the collector area.

There's some loser on Ebay selling one really cheap:

I really try to stay away from Ebay items, but who knows? :) The FP "race" manifold is also a pretty good deal, but you will give up some low end for top end. It all depends on your preference.

Good luck!

Lol, I just noticed that. The description says DSM flange too but I would still stay away.

If your just changing the manifold and not the turbo you don't have to change the down pipe.

Agreed! I didn't upgrade my evo3 until I was north of 550whp its an awesome manifold especially ported!

Thirded on the FP manifold. Those cheap "SS runner" tubular style manifolds will crack and wrap within months. Seriously. Used Evo 3 ported manifold if you are trying to stay really cost effective but maybe cut a couple things out daily and within a month you have enough to get an FP and have it ceramic coated! Just about every turbo car made comes with a cast manifold for a reason. They work, they last, they make power.

Agree 100 percent on the FP manifold. That's a great piece, I love mine. And if I remember correctly it wasn't expensive, and the only off the shelf manifold with a true 4-1 collector.

You're not "upgrading" anything by purchasing a shitty eBay manifold. Port the collector on the stock one to match the inlet of the turbine housing if it isn't done already and call it a day.

You'll be trimming studs and banging your head off the wall just to get that P.O.S. on the car only to be rewarded with increased engine bay temps and paint peeling off your valve cover. Then 6 months later when it cracks, you'll be changing out all the studs you shortened so you can go back to a stock manifold.

no love for those cheep eBay units huh? haha my old car had one on it (n/a) celica, drove it for 2 years before it cracked but when it did....wooh look out, it ended up cracking all the way around the collector weld. (did drive it for almost a week after noticing though) That one wasn't even dealing with the extra abuse from a turbo. just for laughs: with those tubular headers, my old celica would boil rain off the hood! looked awesome..

my vote goes to the FP mani, and if mine ever starts again, eventually she will be getting one. plus they look really clean under the hood!
