I put on my new ERL manifold and one of the studs just kept on spinning, and spinning and spinning. What is the best was to repair the threaded hole in the head to fix this issue?
I would Helicoil the stripped thread.
Heli-coil it. Had to do that for two om my studs.
I assume my local part store has that. Wonder if I can do that with the manifold on the car?
If my stud ends up being bad where do I get another one?
aluminum is way weaker than those studs, chances are your haed needs a helicoil but just for the sake of answering your question, here you can get the OEM studs.
STM: OEM EXHAUST MANIFOLD STUD AND NUT KIT | 90-94 DSM | 95-99 DSM | EVO VIII-IX
Thanks for the help guys!
My local parts store should have the helicoil kit for my thread pitch and size right?
