Head re-build

Ok this is it! its time to rebuild my head! I just want some recomendations about a less expensive way to go about doing this. I want to get another 60- 70 horsepower out of this but dont know if I should go full porting and polish if I can just get it resurfaced and upgrade cams and valves????? Do I need to get my head ported to get the significant gain that I want right now? I am not ready for a stroker kit yet but am just trying to push my car into the high 12's. Hollar at me with some advice!!!!!

The only way to get 40 or more whp you are going to have to put cams in. All the other stuff is good but to get some power cams is the way to go. I recomend 272/272 combo. People say its not that great because of the idle but you will see the best gains. Who cares about idle, and I think it sounds nice with a good exhaust

Awsome guys thanks alot I think that I will go with all new components and wait for the port job, but of course like every other dsm'er out there I will always want more huh?!

i would recommend ferrera bronze valve guides and seals, manley valve springs and retainers, a good valve job. just stick with the stock valves if they aren't bent as this would save you a couple hundred dollars. also if your looking for cheap cams i would go with the DKS 272's to save some money.
with the 14b there is no way you will gain 60-70 horsepower with a ported head and cams. with the ported head and cams your turbo will not be able to keep up with the air being ingested into the engine and you'll not be able to hold as much boost in the upper rpm range.
