Alright here what my plans are on the whole build.
2.3L stroker
SMIM
FP 3052 (O2 External 44 tial ect.)
FP exhaust manifold
Looking to make 450 to 500 WHP and still a street driver. Some strip time maybe..
On that note I am looking to rev at 8500 to 9000 RPM and I am really wanting to put some fp2x cams. I plan on putting dual springs on it for the higher revving but what else do you think is needed to make this run to the specs I want.
I have a spare Head and a Block to do this on so time is not an issue. I just want things to be done the right way. Advice would be appreciated to lead me in the right direction. Maybe some comments from someone with the same goals or near the same setup.
Thanks
Chad.

Yeah as mentioned above everything on the inside is getting replaced. Any other thoughts or comments on my battered head!!

damn that is what I was thinking! That sucks I just bought this off somebody. Oh well back to the drawing board.

Well I got a hold of the person I bought the head off of and he is going to do an exchange for me which is cool so the build will be starting when some extra money rolls in via tax season. Thanks to all who have posted on this thread and I will keep you posted with pictures on the progress.

Yeah the person that I bought this other head off of is going to trade me for another one. I guess he had some more but he grabbed the wrong one for me is all. So that is what is going on with that. Good guy actually is part of dsmtuners.

Alright I need your help now, I got the head swapped but instead with a 1g head. My question to you all is now what do I need in 1g parts to make this work. Like for example head gasket, head studs, CAS, Thermostat housing, etc. etc. etc. I need to know because I think that the RRE while its a good write up is a little vague.

Oh sorry forgot to mention that. I have a 7 bolt block to work with. RRE has a write up but from what I've read it doesnt really tell you the parts you need to make this work or I am miss reading it. But to make this work I need to start looking for parts that will mate up the two. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Alright I have been searching the internet on different websites and I think that I have found most of the stuff that I need to bolt this sucker up. 1g water pump tube,, rewire my cas, lower radiator hose, drill the intake cam for the cas. Now my only questions are what am I missing, am I doing something that needs not to be done. What head bolts/gasket do I use? Remember 1g head on 2g block. thank you.

Well you need the head studs / bolts that match the block. (11mm 7 bolt)

Head gaskets are the same for 6/7 bolts. I'd suggest using a Cometic 86 mm if your block was bored and your head/block have been resurfaced.

Don't forget you need a 1g thermostat housing / water neck too.

Thank you very much for the reply. Now is it true even if I am buying aftermarket cams I still need to drill for the cas I think that I read it somewhere about drilling it, but I think that they were using stock cams?
