420A Having ecu issues

Ive got a 96 gs. Ive been in the process of getting it fixed for a while just got the motor rebuilt and some other issues arose some kids got in the car and spun the steering wheel round and round. so now im dealing with all the wiring that goes through the steering wheel. The air bag has never been deployed but the light now comes on. I dont currently drive it because theres another issue with what i have been told is the timing. Basically it throws a code after about 15 minutes of running and shuts off. this is the first issue i need to address any help would be much apprechited

i'd get that timing issue figured first if it really is a timing issue cuz that could lead to many idle/driving problems by itself, dont wanna be mister obvious here but check for what that code is, you haven't given info on if the car idles badly, misfires, backfires or anything so i don't know what to help you with
