420A Having top speed issues?

Hey, guys....having a little problem getting up to speed...the car has been running great and all....it all started kinda last night....since i have had the car, i never tried to top it out...until last night at a closed course and would only reach to about 80mph and then, back down....let off the gas and pedal to the ground....then nothing just the revs back to 3-4 and then 80mph and back down....it is an auto, and i know that the max is like 124, but still kinda wierd.. My ideas at the moment is my "speedo" is off by alot or i have a really low restisted rev limiter...?

any ideas would be great....

any CEL? If so find out what the code is. It sounds like it's going into limp mode or something. Does it run normally at any other speed?

Oh, yea...there was a CEL...incorrect ratio Gear 1: P0731
Runs fine in everything else....pulling the pan to see what is in it!

Governor kicks in at mid 80's from what i remember on those GS. I know FOR SURE that car is not doin 124mph stock and DEFINITELY not governed to do anything past 100.... Automatic has a lower governor as well.
