I did a boost leak test yesterday and found that the bov is leaking from a small hole on the back of the bov right under where the vaccum line goes. Is this normal? The hole seems like it machined from the factory. When i plug the hole its cause air to start to leak from the bov internally. I cant get the car to build more than 10 psi.

FWIW, I emailed Greddy a few years ago about this and they said that small hole was "supposed" to leak, to prevent damage from happening to the internals or some b/s like that. (It HAS been a few years now). Though my car ran great when I had a greddy type rs.......

Orangedsm95 - Have you checked the diaphragm on yours yet?

Yea i pulled the bov apart and found a few small tears in the diaphragm. I tried to coat the whole diaphragm with a thin layer of permatex but its still leaking. I dont really wanna spend $85 on a greddy replacement diaphragm. I heard they were garbage. Im wondering if the ngr diaphragms would work in the rs bov. Id rather buy one of the ngr ones if there supposed to be a better product.

Yeah, I figured it would turn out to be a bad diaphragm.:toobad: And no permatex is not going to work to fix it. If it were mine I would just quit screwing around and replace it with a completely new valve. Can't beat a 1g valve as far as performance and durability is concerned IMHO.;)

I wish i could just replace it but funds dont allow it and i couldnt run a 1g bov. I run higher boost than what they can hold.

i would say go with type s or or 1g but they can get a little expensive since the 1g would require a different flange. try the ngr. its MUCH cheaper than the greddy version. good luck.
