1G Have my electrical demons come to haunt me? Ignition turning on when brake pedal is pressed

Yesterday I turned off my 1g as usual after a long drive. Park, foot on brake, put in neutral, e-brake up, and turn key off. Except the car didn’t shut off until I released the brake pedal. And now when there’s no key in the ignition and I step on the brake, my dash completely lights up. WTF?

What aftermarket electronics do you have in the car?

Good question. The previous owner installed a head unit, aftermarket stereo, all the AEM gauges, blue interior lights, aftermarket dash lights, a techno motive EEPROM chip (need to splice into clutch switch) and that’s all that I can think of. Thing that would really mess things up. I’ve had the car for 3 years and has never done this. I’m not very concerned, just curious.

Hey guys, I made a post last week about my dash lighting up and car not shutting off when my brake pedal is pressed. I took apart the ignition and here’s what I found. When the ignition is off and the brake pedal is not pressed, the black wire has 12v and black/white has no power. But when ignition is on, or when the brake pedal is pressed, the black/white wire has 12v. What’s going on here? I was thinking bad ground but I can’t find any.
