Has anyone else had any problems concerning their hallman mbc?
I've been running into symptoms of boost leaks, so when I went to check, the only thing that was indicating a leak was the MBC itself from the bleeder. At the track the other weekend, no matter how high I cranked the boost up, it would only go to 14-15psi.

You know what's odd? My Hallman ES MBC was having the same issues for a while. I would use some threadtape and it would be ok, then it would just do it all over again. I then took the spring out and stretched it out just a hair and now I don't have any issues, though I'm still considering a new MBC for reliability reasons. We'll see...

Yuh.. It was holding boost. Before the track it was around 18psi. I made my pass and realized it was at 14??? Cranked it all the way, same.. So of course figuring a big boost leak, but that's all that there was, other then of course slight amount from the TB.
Idk??

It sounds like you're not able to bleed off enough air to open the wastegate later. Have you tried a simple hardware store bleeder vlave to see if you can make more boost?

Also you can use a smaller vacume line to the MBC and a smaller one from there to the wastegate to help change teh relation of airflow so that you can bleed off more of the total volume when using smaller lines

I'm also thinking it may be the spring in it. I noticed that new, they come with 2 springs. One rated for 4-5 psi, the other for 5+. If I have the lightweight spring, that would explain why it's only going to 14-15psi, and when it was going to 17 most likely a boost spike from internally gated.

But I will give that a try and see if it helps, but for now I just threw on my Dejon one :)

Light spring will only do +4-5psi you need to switch out to the heavy spring.

I have one that came with mine but ill need it later when i go holset.

Call them up or go to there web site and see if you can get one. Or look around the house for things that have springs... clicky pens etc...
