If you want we can contact through pms or phone and I can help you through it. I ran e85 last year with no problems. Ran a 12.028 on my 16g. We can work together if you would like. Every car is different in their own way. Best way to start is start out on 2g maps and work from there on e-85. I think the Evo maps are a little to aggressive for a starting point, but to each their own. Starting out on pump will do a little, however a lot does change I believe when you start to use e85.

Thanks ill definately keep that in mind im going to make sure everything is running the way it should mechanically then ill move on from there.

I'm new to tuning on e85 as well. Since you're in Colorado I would schedule an appointment with kevin at Jacks Transmission. Those guys have helped me out a bunch and they did my first tune when I was still on pump gas. I know greenly is a bit of distance from Colorado springs but in my opinion it would be worth the drive.

I second this. The only complaint I ever have with them tuning my car is it usually takes 6 weeks to get it in there during the summer. LOL

They just tuned my car and it was ripping at 25psi on the stock head before my exhaust issues.

They street tune it, but can take it to the Dyno for more money if you really want the numbers.

What I would suggest, is going back to pump gas. And starting with a base tune, my laptop had different link config so I am not sure what your logging. Start by dialing the fuel/ timing and all the nonsense back to baseline. However, the evo fuel map is rich as shit LOL. Start with the basics, do a boost leak test, compression test, fresh plugs/ wires, make sure all your crap is running correctly. THEN start logging runs with wideband logged accurately so if you have a question you can post a log and have people in Link forums help. IMO asking tuning questions on tuners about link tuning makes no sense.

I hear you on asking questions herewhich is what I thought til I needed help. I've honestly gotten more help here than on Link forum. More input, more follow up, faster replies :hellyeah:
Snowboarder714 and MY1GDSM helped me a TON on my issue. Should have some updates in my thread soon too.

Do you have any logs by any chance of your tune just curious to see how much more different it is besides the timing of course.

Yeah they do take forever to get to you, but that's because they are the best in Colorado and EVERYONE with a DSM goes to them. I'm waiting on them to build my block and as of yesterday I jumped timing so now it will be a full rebuild including transmission. I don't it will get done until mid July since there are about 10 (no exageration) builds in front of me.

Several people on here have offered to help you for free...
When I first got link a friend of mine offered to help me so I drove a little over an hr to his house and spent all day learning dsm link v3 and how to tune both of our cars. It was a very valuable experience even though im not a very confident tuner I can adjust my fuel, timeing and adjust the maf settings as needed. I will get more help if I make the switch to E85..

Well I've been trying to figure out why cuts out as soon as it hits boost feels like a huge boost leak. I took apart my whole front mount an checked couplers one by one and they're all good. I hope it's not the fuel pump. It's doing the same thing almost when my 255 died.

Oh believe me I know.. They do great work, it's obvious with the waiting list to get your car in there.

Nah I wish I did. My laptop was broke when they tuned it.. they used their own.

Knock sensor works. As soon as I loaded the evo maps and did a pull I got about 3 counts.

Did you miss

I just don't feel that recommending the EVO maps for E85 is a good Idea period. as under any real load anyone's car is more then likely either going to pick up rich knock or cut out from being too rich...

What are/where your AFR's under load? do you have/get a log before your mishap I would asume so if you can say exactly how much Degree of timing was pulled from knock(links reading isn't like the old school MMCD way of logging knock count FYI, It's actual degree of knock retard and not "count")... .

Also did you take the time to get your wideband setup to log correctly With out doing that "tuning" is pretty pointless... . That link I posted wasn't to the public side of the DSM/ECMlink web page or a video from the Demo section. It was to the forums and a specific post of mine.

If you're not comfortable tuning it yourself, you can contact Mac Autosport in Parker. They can help, but it won't be cheap. You have a few guys out there that might help you as well. Just post in the Denver local forum asking for some help and you'll get someone. Biglady helped me on several occasions when I lived out there. You've got some pretty hardcore DSMers out in CO that are willing to help, you just have to ask them, and not all of them hang out here... I noticed many of them tend to keep to themselves out there and don't interact with the DSM masses all that much. But they're friendly enough when you talk to them.

My1gdsm- no I read it and found the problem just now one of my clips for an injector was loose the cutting is gone. I'm working on setting up the maf right and getting the wb to read right before any more pulls. Thanks.
Chris- Yea mac was my first choice but they were out 2 weeks ahead. I'll contact someone local If I can't get this thing going. You're right dsm ers here tend to keep to themselves LOL.

I dont trust any shops here locally to tune my car. Theres a local guy in denver who does my tuning. PM me if you want some more info. Only way Id go to mac is to see how much power Im making, not to tune.

Also just by touching a coupler doesnt tell you if its leaking. You need to hook up a BLT and pressurize the whole intake track. Its very important to have NO boost leaks.

Yea I understand how important a Blt is it's just that it had to be a massive leak for it to cut out like that. Got it running right now.

Yea give me some more info on him.

Yeah, let me clarify - I know that plenty of guys out there tuned their DSM on the Mac dyno, but I don't know how many actually had Mac tune the cars for them. I know that that Mac did/does offer DSMlink tuning services. I can't vouch for their abilities though. Again, you might want to ask someone local to help you do the tuning on a dyno.

Hey, sorry I haven't read the whole thread yet, but STAY AWAY FROM TRENZ, NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.
MAC Autosport is better, they're in Parker.

Quite a few people I know have had cars stolen days after having them there for various work.

They overcharge, and underperformed in any story I've ever heard about them. I've been in there once and they'll be quick to pretend they know what they're talking about.

Claiming they could piggyback tune my Lotus didn't help their cause.

Back to reading your thread now!

This is crazy! Im running a H1C aswell and also running 27psi and im seeing around 45 to 47 lbs/min and have logs to prove it and this was also just one 91 oct. Im running fic 1150cc and duty cycle is onlt around 60 percent!!

Yeah right now he is seeing just over 41 lbs of air around ~26 psi.

Wish list for him: Map sensor we can log! So I can get the Mafcomp dialed :)

Oh yeah his alternator died on him too tonight, so once he gets that fixed we will do more tuning. So far I helped him straighten up a few things. In logs via ecmlink we have seen an increase in horsepower of 43 and 50 in torque. I know the app isnt spot on, but things are on their way to getting better. As for the airflow, im brainstorming on why the numbers are a little low. Might still be a boost leak, or the boost being recorded is a little high. Time will tell.

Well bad news today the turbo stopped making any boost it needs a rebuild. My guess the 2g return line not sure. Oil is at 75psi at redline and 15 at idle. I'm wondering if this was part of the problem too besides the tune. I think even with the bad tune at 27psi it should of been at 400hp.
